Online play is totally legal here, but many put down their mice to attend major local live poker tournaments. More than $500,000 in prize money is typically on offer at both the Western Canadian Poker Classic and Klondike Classic staged at Casino Edmonton and Casino Yellowhead, respectively. Kara Scott, who is a poker presenter and made a deep run in the WSOP main event, grew up and honed her skills on the Alberta poker scene.
