Yes cops started closing down hourly rake rooms. These were only 2 printing serious money so they made examples out of them. They ignored the cease and desist letters from the DA for months. Three rooms by me closed down after getting the letters.
@louiegrandie There are many allegations. I’m sure the casinos in Louisiana pushed it and the DA followed orders. Bottom line the card rooms are private and don’t hurt a thing unless the owners are doing things they should not be. Time to legalize gambling in Texas and open casinos.
@kjbenavides yes it’s an hourly rake that guarantees the house constantly makes money. Unlike table rake games where the pot has to hit a minimum amount to be raked hourly is constant that the player pays win or lose. Table rake you only pay if you win so kills the dead money to house factor that you get zero return on. It’s s great business model for the house but in most cases it’s horrible for the player. I was paying $15 an hour 3 weeks ago and they were letting people buy in $60. If they want to charge $15 an hour it needs to be a 300-500 min buy in to constitute the high rake.

Raided by police
@louiegrandie hit the send button too soon. After the two clubs were raided by police a number of clubs voluntarily shut down
