A Whirlwind Weekend 6/26-6/29
Didn't play poker Friday, too tired and didn't think I would play well. Went by the WSOP at Rio and met Daniel Negraneu and Scotty Nguyen.
Saturday-Played 1/2 or 1/3 NL at Wynn(can't remember which it was) and did well. Gotta love it when early better re-raises you all in when you flop trips. Thank you, come again. Played about 2 hours up almost $200. Left there and headed to Planet Hollywood. Weird little area plopped into the middle of the casino. Great action on the 2/5 NL. I went up and down and had some great plays. I called a turn bet with only a pair of 2's. Something smelled fishy. And I took down $200ish pot with them. Guy looked totally confused when his A high didn't win. Played there about 1 1/2 hour (several players left leaving us with 4 players and 1 on break). Won only $75 but had a really fun time.
Sunday- went back to Wynn, table was boring. Played about 1 hour on the 1/2 or 1/3 NL and left down about $75. Nothing notable. Room seemed way more quiet than Saturday. Action was noticably down. Decided to try Mirage since we were staying there. Got on an ok table with a little action. Got up almost $200 in an hour but then had dinner reseravations. Came back from dinner and the action had left. It was so tight and boring I could have went to sleep. Got 2 table changes but more of the same. Ended up loosing my winnings and a touch more. Sat at a table with Tommy Vu. He is supposedly a pro player...I asked him why he was playing the 1/2NL and he said just to play. Didn't get in any hands with him but my hands weren't hitting so I decided to call it a night.
Monday- got up early and went down to Mirage room. Found a really loose 1/2 NL game that was more like a 2/5. If the poker gods would only give me a hand or two, but sadly no. I played about 2 hours and lost $100 but it was a really fun table. Lots of action. I went all in with pocket 4's and ended up getting called by 1 guy and another guy went all in to isolate. So I ended up tripling up but I was short stacked. Still a nice game to play.
I also played a little 3 card poker which was lucky for me so I ended the trip about $125 down. Not too bad for a fun weekend. Spent some time at the Mirage pool which I highly recommend. Just get there early to get a chair. Back home now and we are going to head to the new Hollywood Casino in Lawnreceburg, Indiana. The new poker room there is suppose to have 40ish tables. That's our home casino so we are happy. See you at the tables.
