Bally's Super Bowl Weekend
Another great trip to Vegas, and it started out with finally making the trip to In/Out Burger. It was as advertised very delicious, but I'd skip the shake next time, not real good. Then I checked into Bally's where I skipped the $20 trick, but afterwards wish I would have givin it a shot as I think it would have worked on my front desk girl. We headed down to the Sports book and bet against my hometown MN Timberwolves and drank with Shanique and Jimmy the two bartenders at the book. We were payed a visit by the Miller Lite girls, "Yes". After a good buzz, I went and sat down at a 1-2 table there at Bally's. There was a good mix of good and bad players at the table. I played for about 3 hours and saw about 4 good hands, I made those work though and cashed our up $10. For the hands I saw, I was pumped.
Saturday morning, went down to the book and hit up Sbarro, had a buy-one-get one coupon from VegasResource.com. Check it out. Then went to play the Bally's 11:00am tournament. This is a $65 tournment where only $45 goes to the pot. 5 tables and looking around I was pretty happy with the competition. Things started slow but I won a couple of hands, then I flopped a set with three clubs on the board. Villain moved all in, a big overbet and I put him on the A high draw and called. I was wrong he had a small flush, but the board came 9.....9. Full house for me and I'm rolling. Long story shorter I felt very comfortable the whole tournament and ended up taking the tournment down. I did end up chopping with 2nd $800 each then we played for the last $74. $5 of the buy in was for the dealers, but it still seemed like the house was looking for tips. I did tip $24 more dollars, but I'm still not very happy about it.
Sunday played cards before the big game and got a fish to call his whole stack looking for his flush that he missed. I got a little loose, but had the lay down of my year. 1st position calls, I raise to $11, and get 3 callers and 1st position. I have AQ. Flop comes Q.10.4. 1st position bets $9. I make it $27. All players behind fold. 1st position makes it $60. I go through the players previous hands and plays and determine he's pretty tight and straight forward. I sigh and show him the AQ and say, I should have paid you more on this..then fold. He shows me 10.10. That was as good as winning the tournament. I walked away up $80.
We then went to a Superbowl party at Stiener's Pub. This is a great bar and I'd love to tell you all about it, but the deal was $100 for all the food and drink you want. Well.....I do remember Holmes great catch, post that?????
All in all great trip. Bally's was better than I would have thought it would have been. We did make it over to Bill's for Craps which was great, and kodos to Sergio the 3 card poker dealer there, you were great! Can't wait to get back!

Congrats on the tourney! Nice trip report. I question the decision to forego the in-n-out shake however...how can you beat a double-double and choc. shake?
Never feel bad about tipping tournament dealers,if it were not for that $5 they take at the start there would be times when they would work for free....dealing tournaments suck and they deserve and appreciate your tip any amount...something is better then nothing....but if u felt that the house was pushing u into tipping thats not right either....
I agree. In tournaments near my home I always tip. 1st or 5th, and I've seen people stiff which is crap. I'm just saying without the extra $5 rake I would have won another $105 and probably would have given $80 of it back, just hard to give more.
As for the shake, it was just soooooo milky and smooth, not enough like ice cream.
double double??? Come on the 3x3 or 4x4 is where it's at. I have never had an In N Out shake, but I love that place, glad to see you finally made it bye. Congrats on the tourney, I would probably have tipped a little more, but that is me I'm an over tipper. It was a straight $5 per runner taken out of the entry $ they didn't have a $5 add on...I think they could almost double the dealer tip pool if they added an add-on.
