So I guess you have to drop twenty grrrr (20K) or more for the Palazzo to call you up with a free 4 night stay with show tickets and $200 gaming credits. I didn't drop the twenty grrr but my buddy did last year when he went with his girl....and so our other friend and I went with him to enjoy the weekend. We used three of the four nights.
End up playing $1-2 at Venetian the first night and was up $30 bucks or so after an hour. I was tired and the table was tight so I went to bed.
Next morning I wanted to make the Monte Carlo early morning tourney...walked the strip and ended up playing MGM $1-2 NLHE cash game. I bought short just because I didn't feel like paying the $5 ATM fee....that was a huuge mistake because I missed out on a GIGANTIC pot (over $500). I didn’t call a pre-flop raise with 4-4 when I was getting a good price. I would've definitley called if I bought in with a $200 stack. Ended up running my short buy into the ground and was pissed because I really wanted to play in a $3-6 HORSE rotation game they had just started.

Went to eat at the ESPN zone and played the next session at Venetian and dominated. It was a brand new game consisting of some Deepstack Donkament bust outs that were terrible. Some dude was complaining about his A-A which got busted by J-10. I wanted to choke that fewl and say, "it's a donkament!!!" You have to be a donk to win.
I took a hit early in the session when I went head up with one of the locals. He flopped top two and I had TPTK. He elected to exercise pot control
(gave me some respect I guess) as I kept firing away and finally shut it down on the river. He surprisingly checked. I guess he thought I had a set. My big hand was when I scored by hitting nut flush on the river. I was all in on the turn and the pot was three way. Thank god the spade came, but I had outs with 2 overs and a gut shot. ***Literally as I was raking in the pot of about $350, my buddy texts me and says he hit the jackpot at Palazzo. I call for a rack and get the F&*K outta there.
5 grr was the jackpot. My buddy that hit it was playing the $200 gaming credit and had run it down to $9 when he hit. He felt obligated to give some $$ to my other buddy since he was the one that got the complimentary suite, show tickets, gaming credits. To my surprise they DIDN'T do a 50/50. My buddy that hit the jackpot kept 3 grr and gave 2 grr to Mr. Comp. I still can't believe that.

I headed to Venetian again to play $1-2 NLHE. I made a huuuge lay down early with TPTK. Guy showed one card (top pair)...he said he had two pair on the flop which I sort of believe, but I wouldn't be surprised if he had A-J as well. Stayed focused after that and scored a decent pot against a local by slow playing A-K pre-flop when I had TPTK, on flop, and on turn, and then firing out fast on the river when a K fell. He paid me off. Then picked up back to back Aces and dominated with them. I left after about an hour with a full rack!!!

My last session at Venetian is when I lost my $180 buy in. I played bad, was tired, and should've left but was stubborn. And then I got felted.

My last two sessions were at Planet Hollywood. Boy do I love this place. I min raise UTG with 4-5 of clubs and get all kinds of callers. Flop comes 3-6-8 rainbow. A bet of $15 was made by opponent and a call by another opponent was made. I was thinking of shoving and trying to win pot right there, but I figured I would let a card come off so I flat call. Turn was a 2 giving me the straight. Guy bets $30...I think for 5 seconds and say All-In. Guy insta calls. I say, "straight," and turn my holdings over. He says, "ewww" and mucks. He said he had top pair?
???wtf
I play my button and then rack up my chips as my table at PF Changs was ready. It looked real bad, but I really did have to go eat.

Last session at PH I made $80. I got lucky that my opponent had Q-Q when I held KK. I missed a river bet when she checked but I didn’t want her moving in on me with a pair showing on board so I elected to do the safe thing and check. Table broke up due to tourney so I headed to the Wynn to buy some gifts and enjoy the buffet. This was the best part of the trip. I've had all the badass meals in Vegas...Daniel Bouloud, Bobby Flay, Wynn room service, and other places but the Wynn Buffet was The Shit!!!!
I finished up $455 from poker and had a full belly and some great gifts for friends/family. I Hopped back on the plane and headed back to TX. Gotta love direct flights! Good luck to all when venture out to LV.

  1. 1) What's the story with the $40 keychain?

    2) "Donkament" usually suggests a low buy-in tourney with a horrible structure. How can you call a DSE event a 'donkament'?

    3) How'd you do at the Monte Carlo tourney?

    4) I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not chopping my jackpots either. I probably buy dinner and pay for cabs the rest of the trip, but that's it. CompBuddy was lucky to get $2000.

  2. [x] lacking details, pics about the strip club

  3. @Cashewz

You feel that way even though he was playing on CompBuddy's gaming credit? IE was playing with CompBuddy's money effectively?

  4. if it weren't for compbuddy,he wouldn't have been in vegas, and he wouldn't have had that $200 gaming credit...and after taxes $2000 might be close to an even chop.....i would have done the same thing,or at least made the offer, don't know how good of friends these guys are or if compbuddy has money and 2k means nothing to him......

  5. I need to edit my post because I totally forgot to mention the $40 keychain.
I was in the Wynn gift shop and needed one for thing for my girl and saw this sweet little keychain that had the price tag wrapped around the keychain so it looked like $4.00 instead of $40. I bought a decent amount of stuff so I didn't think anything of it when signing the reciept. I asked the guy in the store if it was $4.00 and he said yes. Oh well, I gave it to my girl for V-Day.

I just felt like saying Donkament

CompBuddy and my Jackpot friend are realllly good friends. I don't know how they settled on a 3k-2k split (with CompBuddy only getting 2k);maybe it's just me but I would've felt obligated to do a straight split...but yes CompBuddy doesn't care much about the 2k. Maybe more so these days, but I've seen him put $700 down on one hand of casino war soooo....

I never made the Monte Carlo tourney. I was already like 20 min late when I finally got down that way and I hate entering tourney's when they've already started.

Strip club was bad ass, I love me some asian. She got really damn close to doing the trick and I think she knew that too because she stopped the technique she was using, but it's all good as I had bottle service and other dances. In fact I was the smart one and cut the girl off after 2 1/2 dances. My buddies let the girls dance for like 4,5,6 songs. They distract the hell out of you and before you know if you owe them all kinds of $$.

My bad, I completely whiffed on the part about the gaming credit; in that case, a chop is certainly the way to go.

I was focussed on the room comp, and thought that the guy who hit the jackpot was playing his own $$$.

  7. Very nice report.

    $40 keychain..wow.
hope she has a nice car.
