EA18 - A trip through the SOUTH

Our adventure starts at 10pm with your heroes arriving at the Silverton. This casino is south of Las Vegas, off of Blue Diamond. They have 6 tables. When we arrived we got into a 3-6 limit game. We played 7 hands and left. I lost $10. They have a beautiful room with a nice staff. With only 300 hotel rooms, I feel they will have less tourist's money going into the games.

Our next stop was the SOUTHPOINT hotel, casino & resort. For those of you who don't know, I work at the SOUTHPOINT. I am the graveyard shift manager in the poker room. So as you probably guessed, this will be an honest, totally unbiased report. Like our friends at Fox say, "Fair and Balanced!"

As you walk into the SOUTHPOINT, you right away notice how helpful, competent, fun & attractive our staff is. On Monday night at 10:30pm Steve W. was running the shift (a fellow AVPer). He was on break when we arrived so we were taken care of by the stunning Jeanette and the equally stunning Frank.

Mike was immediately seated in a lively 1-2 no limit game. He won $60. Our 1-2 game is well known for great action and big stacks. I am not allowed to play in the room, it's a house rule. So after about an hour of great hospitality by the staff, we begrudgingly decided to leave the greatest hotel and poker room in the world to continue our adventure.

Our next stop was the M at 11:45pm. Mike arrived first. He ran into three AVPers cruising for chicks, Photoc, Minton & Psand. Watch out ladies. As I arrived, this Mensa meeting was trying to figure out what percentage of all AVP posts this group accounts for. Here is the stat. As of 11:45pm on 4/29 the sight had a total of 92,848 posts. The four of them and I had a total of 16,284 posts or 17.5%.

After pondering that important world issue, we entered the poker room. They had three games going, all full. The M has 12 tables and is a very pretty room. Since they only have 400 hotel rooms, they will have a lack of tourist's dollars just like the Silverton. This could hurt their action. Mike and I BS for about 10 more minutes, then leave without playing.

To continue our tour of the South we go to Green Valley Ranch. Fans of the EA series will remember that this room was on EA1. We get there at 12:45am and get into a 1-2 nl game. I did well and made $240. The staff is very nice and the room and casino are beautiful. At 2:30am we are both hungry so we leave the GVR.

To end the night we go to the Orleans, where we know a game will be going. We arrive at the coffee shop at 3am. Have a great meal, play Keno, then off to the poker room. We get into a 1-2 nl game. Mike wins and I lose $45. We finish up at 5am.

So that was our evening. We went to five local's casinos. I played in three. We had incredible hospitality from the greatest poker room in the world, SOUTHPOINT. And I won $185 for the night. I had a nice evening and I'm looking forward to EA19. Any suggestions?
