Playing at the Wynn
I have played once at the Wynn previously right after it opened but hadnt spent much time in the poker room. This time I put 20+ hours in 3 days playing 1/3 NL at 4 different tables and many players.
Most players were poker players who have played a fair amount of poker in rooms all over the country mixed in with these players I ran into a few who would be best described as poker bullies, players with big egos, too much money, and the desire for attention which for a tight player like myself can be a good thing.
I sat down for my third sit at the Wynn at a 1/3NL table early Friday afternoon. There were some decent sized stacks of chips with a few players having anywhere from 3 to 10 100 dollar bills on the table as well. Note on the chips I and several other players commented on the lack of fondness for $3 chips causes many issues trying to count out bets and raises, got to a point where most dealer recommended we just call out a number of chips we wanted to bet. Anyway there was a guy at the table who was one of the big ego guys, I think he was Greek and could have been Adam Arkin (the actors) brother. This guys pattented bully move was right before he was going to raise your bet would ask you how much you had in front of you and then as you looked over your stack and before you could answer he would toss a folded wad of 10 $100 bills into the pot and then stare at you waiting for a call which I never saw anyone call him. I heard from another player next to me at the table that he played the day before and there was a different player doing a similar thing with a $5,000 Wynn chip. Must be the newest thing to do to get attention, my personal opinion is the World Series has helped create this, so many people watch the TV replay of the event and see all the players that feel the need to make big shows or be loud to get TV coverage. God bless the Gus Hansons of the world who play and win or lose do it with class.
But to summarize I found tables that had planty of nice quality players and then tables that had either action junkie young kids or loud Greeks. Overall I like the Wynn's room it can be busy at times but the dealer were all VERY nice and pro's who I enjoyed talking with as I played. For the guys there are two good reasons to go - the waitresses are some of the best looking in all of vegas and the uniforms - well they flatter the chest area nicely and second I have never seen so many young attractive female players as I did at the Wynn.
If you go and there is a loud Greek gentleman throwing wads of 100's into the pot please snap him off with 73 offsuit for me!
