Quads in your mouth at the Flamingo!
So about a month ago I head into the Flamingo poker room on a Friday night about 1:00am afer I got out of work. Expecting a list on a Friday night I am surprised to sit right down to a 5 handed table. Maybe poker really is dying down a little out here or the $5 max rake at Harrah's properties is keeping people away.
I fold about the first 20 hands trying to get a
read on people and the hands they play. Seat 1 is a tight player from Munich Germany. I'm in seat 2. Seat 3 is a black dude from Atlanta that want's to hollywood before every fold. Seat 7 and 8 are 2 guys from Liverpool who are on their way to getting drunk. So the table works for me, just stay out of seat 1's way.
I had bought in for $200 and went down to 50 bucks after not pushing with top pair, top kicker and letting one of the Beatles from Liverpool hit their flush on the river. So I reload for another $100 because a real drunk guys sits down with a rack of blue dollar chips and after being told it's not 2-4 limit he wants to play anyway. This guy was a real humanitarian as he donated 600 bucks to the table over the course of two hours. Every time getting another rack of blue chips, I was suprised they let him do that.
So now I start catching some cards and run my stack up to $600. A key hand was when the same Beatle pushes all in when the third diamond hits
representing the flush but I could tell he didn't push it in the same way as when he had it before. I call with my pocket queens and he shows pocket 5's. That put him on tilt a little and now he is calling all my raises trying to
get even. The table fills up and another great hand hits. I raise with pocket queens on the button and get 1 caller who has Ace Queen. The case Queen flops and all the money goes in the middle. That was a nice pot. God Save the Queen!!! So now I got about a grand when the key hand of the night happens.
I raise in late position with pocket Kings and get 2 callers. The German guy calls which concerns me until the flop is K-K-A with A-K of diamonds. Quads Baby! The flop is checked around. The turn brings the 10 of diamonds. I'm
praying someone has hit their flush. The first guy bets out, the German guy calls and I raise a hundred. To my surprise they both call. The river is an Ace for a board of K-K-A-10-A with 3 diamonds so the Royal is out there. The first guy goes all in right away and the German mucks. The Flamingo has high hand jackpots and a bad beat which is at 55 grand. If this guy has Quad Aces or a Royal I would get around 22 grand for the losing bad beat hand. So with my heart beating like Kwame watching the news (for you Michiganders)I do my Phil Helmuth insta-call shoving all my chips in. I say do you have Aces as I turn over my kings and dipshit turns over A-5. ARGH!!! Still a nice pot and an extra 60 bucks for the Quad Kings high hand. So now I have about $1100 in chips and start to use them to push people around. I proceed to play until 9:30am and cash out $2100. Not bad for 1/2 and my new record. That makes up for a lot of losing sessions.
Does anyone have $2100 beat in a single session at 1/2 NL? It was one of those perfect storms of poker with the cards going my way and the players paying me off. I gotta try the same thing at Bills one of these nights.

3400 in 16 1/2 hours but the max buy in was the big stck and people reloaded for 2000 so not your typical 1-2nl game but thats what the blinds where
cashed out 2050 at stratosphere with 300 buy in,,,, a little over 4 hours
more luck than skill that night
Excellent trip report! Glad it went well.
My record at 1-2 NL is $2800 after a $200 buy-in at Casino Morongo (SoCal) in 4 hours. Lots of rich college kids overplaying TPTK.
I don't know why you are calling the guy a dipshit, maybe your just a prick. He still has aces full and only loses to your quads or a royal, kind of a cooler if you ask me.
And 2450 in a 10 hour session in MT.
Great trip report.
I liked the "humanitarian" comment.
I can't beat $2100.00
Best I ever left a 1/2 was $900 (profit after buy in's, etc)

I didn't mean the all in on the river I mean't him calling the raise to $15 pre-flop and calling the $100 raise on the turn. Would you call a $100 raise with A-5 off on a board of K-K-A-10, 3 diamonds and you don't have one? When he called I thought maybe he did have the Quads or Royal. I was hoping for the bad beat, that's all.
As far as the $1100. I didn't mean the very next hand. I was up and down all night. I had $1800 at one point and my goal was to get to two grand and stop, then I go down to $1300. Luckily I stayed and ended up with $2100.

To me it is the $5 rake that keeps me away.
My best 1/2 NL session was an $880 cash out ($680 profit) in a 3 1/2 hour session at Mandalay.
nice trip report
congrats on the big win!!
Very fun night! My record is like +1300 in the 1/3 NL game at the Wynn in only a few hours. An interesting anecdote that night was that I actually got criticized hard for my tip on the monster pot I won. I tipped $6 on a $1200 pot and was ridiculed by about 3 or 4 people. I just racked up and left.
