Day 2 starting off driving down to the Flamingo from the MGM. Recommend driving on Koval, don't ever drive the strip. Word to those that don't know.

Get to Flamingo about 930AM for their 10AM tournament and get to the poker room which has 2 cash games going and looking mighty empty. I go to the area to register and ask how many were in the tournament and was told 13. Since it was 930 I figured maybe maybe more will show up closer to cards in the air time. Lady says you want to enter, I said sure, she said give me your players card. I asked her why, she said no players club, no entry into the tournament. I start laughing and gave her my card. The two buddies of mine that went as well didn't have a card and I go show them where to get one. 15 minutes later and back to the poker room. Since the tournament was 10-15 minutes from starting I decide to play some video poker right in front of the poker room. I am playing and a guy comes up to me and says.... excuse me sir are you (my name)? At first I wanted to say no because I had no idea how he knew who I was and didn't know what he wanted. But I insta say yes and he introduces himself as an executive host and he was glad to see me come back to the Flamingo and if I needed anything at all to let him know and I would get the absolute best VIP treatment. He handed me his card, I thanked him and he left. I couldn't figure out why it happened, but as I am typing this, I remember I put together a private tournament for the poker room and held it at the Flamingo. That has to be it, but someone had to alert him I was there and point me out. Aferall I was away from the poker room for about 15 minutes. I didn't ask for anything, but later on I should've.

This tournament you got $1500 starting chips for $65. The tournament started with 20 people and ended up with 24 entries. I never got anything going and when I did shove, I had the best of it only to be rivered out as I did the night before at TI.

My thoughts on the Flamingo tournament are pretty blunt, don't bother. While the dealers were nice, the tournament had no flavor or vibe to it. There isn't any music in the room, it's an older casino and they take a HUGE cut from the prize pool. $360 out of $1560 is just way too much to take out. They paid out a total of $1200. Nearly 24-25% of the entry money whacked out. I know that might be a normal amount but in such a small tournament, there should be some leeway, afterall it's not like the 3 tables which quickly went to 2 were taking up space for real money players.

Waste some time and then head over to Caesars for the 3PM daily tournament. Decide to eat lunch and go to Lago's Cafe which is the buffet. It cost $19.99 for lunch and really wasn't worth it. Not a real wide selection and the desert area was pretty limited as well.

After eating head to the sportsbook see what the line is on the Lakers game and then head to the poker room with about 15 minutes left before the tournament is to start. I head to the back and the place is full and looks like a poker room should. Caesars always does well with their poker room. I go to the tournament area and there were several tournaments going on. I head to the registration area and am told no 3PM tournament due to deep stack events and another later tournament wasn't happening either. I asked the guy why it wasn't updated on the website, he had no clue. I checked the CP website the night before leaving for Vegas to make sure all was in order. Obviously Harrah's doesn't update their sites on a regualar basis. I didn't want to play a $330 tournament at 4PM and decided it was time to head to the Venitian to relax watch some of the game before the 7PM tournament.

This was my first time to the Venetian and I was impressed. Nice classy place. I find the poker room and said to my buddy, now this is what I call poker heaven !!!!

I find where to register for the tournament and the guy says give me your players card, I start laughing again. I know they are stand alone so ask where do I get one. He says see the girl to your right go there and get one and get back in line. There is a lot of people in line to get this card and I could tell the lady getting the info must not be having a good day as she isn't saying anything except do you have a card already? and then doesn't say anything else.

So I figure when it's my turn I will say Hi, I need a card, I don't have one and what's wrong?

I do exactly just that and she says, you need a card? I just laugh and say yes. She gets the card and I go on my way back to the line to register.

The tournament starts about 715PM and I win some pots bluffing and what not. I bust a guy out after I limp with AA and the flop was a weak looking one, I bet he raised all in, I called he flips over 5's I show the aces he just gets up from the table and leaves, doesn't wait for the turn or river. It was funny, people tried to stop him, he didn't listen and kept on trucking.

I won the hand by the way. LOL

Fast forward to the 5th level, a guy got AA, AK and QQ in consective hands and wins a ton of chips. I am in the BB and everyone folds til it got to this guy he limps in and everyone folded to me and I look down at QQ. I raised it up, and he goes all in. I think to myself ok this guy got 3 monster hands in a row what are the odds for 4 in a row and he limped in. Is he looking to steal or playing bully, or using the power of his last 3 hands. I decided to test the theory of bully and steal and go all in, he insta calls, I show the Q's he flips over K's and the rest was history. I thought that stuff only happened at PS, I guess not !!!!

One of my buddies busts out with 4 tables left and my other one busted out in 15th. I looked at the clock and it was almost 2AM. I was like damn I waited a long time for this..... too funny.

I give two thumbs up to the Venetian poker room.

The one thing I didn't like and it's funny because I was out of the tournament. Their was 4 tables left and 36 people left. The table my buddy was on had 8 people, there was one with 10 and the other two had 9. I asked the floor why they didn't balance the tables and was told they consider a full table with 8 people. I don't like that way of doing it as it's not fair to the other 3 tables with one full and one down 2 people. They should balance out the tables.

A tip to those that like nuts, if you go to the bar between the poker room and the sportsbook, give em $2 and they will give you a big cup of assorted nuts. Good stuff and worth the $2.

We walk back to the Flamingo where the car is at, my buddy drove and we go to get the car and he lost the valet receipt. He tells them what the car is, what the keys look like and they are ok with it and bring the car up. The lady says I need to see your drivers license and she says who is (name) and it's his dad. She looked at the registration in the glove box. So they have to call security and we wait for 30 minutes, I was thinking, I could've walked back over 5 hours ago and been sleeping. I only had 3 hours of sleep the first night. This night proved to be the same.

They finally release the car and apologize about the wait. They did their job so I have no complaints.

I somehow get a second wind and play high limit black jack at the MGM before going to sleep. Funny thing is no sooner did I fall asleep I was right back up. That report will come tomorrow.

In a brief recap:

Don't bother with Flamingo daily tournaments.

Even if the poker rooms own site says the tournament is running, it might not.

Venetian 7PM tournament is well worth the money and for $2 you get nuts.

Don't lose your valet ticket.

On a side note, I saw a lot of typos on my Day 1 report, that's what happens when you use a lap top and are massively tired. I am sure there will be typos here, but I think we all read fluent typos by now.
