Sahara 4 night 5 days
So in my 5 Days at the Sahara i made 4 trips to the poker room.
First off the service is horrible, it takes the boss well over 10 min. to finish there conversation with one of the dealers (not work related before they will even recognize your presence and get you some chips.
The dealers them selves are not to bad, a couple of small mistakes, but nothing to fret over.
The waitress takes about 45 min. to make the rounds so it wouldnt hurt to order a bottle of water plus whatever your drink of choice is.
The play......EXTREMELY LOOSE! I figured i would do fine just playing tight aggresive, but the poker gods must of been mad at me. One example of what im talking about is having clubed big slick and raising at the 1/3 nl table to 10 at about 4th position. 4 people called. flop came 2c 9c k, im first to act so i through out 15 next person raised to 45 and everyone else folded. I only had 90 left so i went all in and was called by q 9 off suite, which riverd the 2 pair and took the pot.
lots of loose calls.
Jackpots were meager; except, for the the bad beat which was up to 17k.
overall i would not recoment the sahara for poker or a place to stay.

First off, I must admit the Sahara is one of my favorite rooms in Vegas after TI and Caesar's. I had quite a bit off success there, having won several hundred dollars each of the two times I have played there recently. Yes, I am absolutely biased by my results....
I can't argue that management is not very efficient. I had to speak up after several people were called to my game (the $1/$3 NL) ahead of me. Turns out that my name was somehow crossed off the list. I never left the room (I was waiting at the $2/$4 table - a game which I really don't like at those limits, so I was listening very carefully). The dealers seemed pretty good. The room is like the casino - run down and kind of forgettable.
However, I really like the structure of the game. $1/$3 builds much better pots than $1/$2, and the $500 buy in maximum lets you play a much deeper stacked game if you so choose (and I always do).
Most importantly, do not make fun of the game for its loose players. That is exactly what I like about the room. I wish I could called everytime by a player who is significantly behind. Yes, it stinks when they win, but this is a beatable game if you can tolerate the below average aspects of the room.
