Well I decided to fly solo on a midweek excursion to play mainly poker. I found a special for only 280 bucks for nonstop flights out of Philadelphia with two nights at the Excalibur.

I arrived monday night 11pm and thought what the hell its midweek let me try to get a room upgrade with just asking for it..Well to my surprise the pleasant lady upgraded me to one of those wide screen rooms for no extra charge. hmm pretty nice room for the Excalibur looking over the strip. I tipped her 10 bucks "pretty cheap I know" but I was still kinda pissed a cab ride from the airport to the hotel was 15 bucks not including tip! Seemed rather high to me.

Anyway I was there to play poker asap. I jumped right into some Excalibur action eager to try those new electronic tables. I sat down at the .50/1 buck no limit table for 50 bucks. Nobody at the table had more than 150 bucks in front of them but I wasnt able to catch cards at all. Lost my 50 bucks in an hour or so and quickly had a bias towards these tables. Heres a few...

1. Without a dealer, these novice players didnt have a clue when it was their turn to bet so often you were waiting on the player staring into space to make a move.

2. Often..the table itself ran slow. For example, If I quickly called a bet the computer would lag taking it a few secs to put my action into play. I observed this a ton.

3. Couldnt catch any cards. Whatever I needed never showed up! Sure this could happen at any room but sure puts a damper on the place if you're not winning.

Woke up and wanted to head to the MGM for some live action. Being a tuesday morning it was relatively slow with only about two 1/2 nl tables going. Got a seat rather quickly and bought in for 150 bucks not expecting much. Well that 150 turned into 5 hours of play. Not too shabbly but never got up passed 175 but it was fun playing/drinking for so long on a low fund. I busted out with a bad all in simply because I was getting tired. Hey at least I was comped a free meal at the stage deli..Great sandwich by the way. The weather on these two days was gorgeous in the mid 80's so I spent the rest of the day simply walking the strip checking out various casinos dumping some money into the slots..

My last and final day I wanted to play as much poker as possible at diff casinos. I had this stupid idea at the casino bar after a spicy bloody mary to just walk down the strip and play in each room for an hour or so and see how that worked out for me. So I started in the Planet hollywood which was a fav room for me 2 years ago. Boy I was shocked to learn that the poker room has moved to the back in the middle of the floor. It was just a roped off place and not very inviting at all. I couldnt get a seat either not that I really wanted to play in that crappy setting anyway. What happened to that awesome Planet hollywood room I remembered?

So off to the next stop ballys. Another small room but I liked the fact they had some high hand jackpots. I sat down at a brand new 3/6 limit with mostly geriatrics and found myself quickly up 160 bucks in an hours worth of time. These old folks chased everything! My last hand I even hit quad 9's for a high hand jackpot for another 150. Walked out in an hours worth of time up 310! Funny side story.. As I was walking out with chips in hand to cash out a pretty hot chic came up to me and asked me for the time. Next thing I know im sitting at the bar with her for a good 45 mins or so shooting the shit and 4 scotches later on her part I realized was hanging with a hooker! I told her I had to meet my friend and i would call her later as I fake put her number in my cell.

The next few stops on my adventure didnt go as expteced. Flamingo, Imperial, Harrahs, bills all had wait times so I had to skip all those and move across street to the Mirage. Nothing eventful as I sat at 4/8 limit table and made a 50 buck profit in an hour. Nice room by the way. So far up 360 total. Off to Ceasars! managed to sit down at 1/2 nl table and found the competition to be very well. I played very tight and with my hour up left down 20 bucks. Total 340..Bellagio 1/2 nl won 85 in an hour. Total 425.

In conclusion I decided not to play any more and take my win on day 2 and grab a nice meal and come home a winner. Never done that before in veags! I didnt have much money to gamble crazy as I only took 750 bucks with me for the entire trip. All in all fun time, It was nice going solo as I could do whatever I wanted when I wanted. Met some great random people at diff casino bars,including that hooker. Even had some balls to save a pretty attractive chic getting hit on by an old nasty fart when I came up to them with a carefree attitude and said baby didnt mean to keep you waiting so long. Old man pissed off strolled off and she Thanked me for saving her. Total cock block on my part! hell i sat down and had a few drinks with this chic from Chicago. Good times, she even game me her card if im ever in the windy city.

Pros- Loved ballys,Mirage was a nice room..going solo with a carefree attitude is awesome.

Cons-Electronic poker, I just hope other casinos do not follow the Excalibur..
