Won a TI Tourney! Oh, and got married.--Long
THURSDAY:
Arrived in Vegas around 11AM on Thursday the 27th and were greeted by our limo driver as we entered the baggage area. Went straight from the airport to the Marriage License office and after about 15 minutes of waiting got the license and we are off to Caesar's to check in. Wife went to get in line and I went and got a couple of beers for us. Started drinking at noon.
Caesar's was nice, but I expected a little more out of our room. We had an upgraded room in the Palace Tower that had a plasma, Jacuzzi tub, and a view of the parking lot and the Mirage.
On our way out of CP we stopped at a .25 Wheel of Fortune machine to get our first gamble of the trip. Down to 16 credits and hit a spin for 1000 quarters. Nice start to the trip.
Head down the strip to Slots-A-Fun to meet up with a couple of friends, get some cheap beer, and play some slots. Hit another $100 on a $1 WoF and then headed to the Riviera to blow the days profits.
Eventually the rest of our friends who were coming for the wedding got to town so we all met up at the Brew Pub at Monte Carlo for drinks and dinner. Ended up getting there too late for dinner so booze would have to do. No more beers for me, let's get the RB and V's going.
2 am is approaching so I mention to my friend that there is a good tourney at TI at two that we should get in to. He agrees and off we go.
Get to TI just in time and there are two seats open. Perfect. Now, normally I should not even bother playing after 14 straight hours of heavy drinking, but we figured we would have a good time win or lose.
27 entrants. Surprisingly I am playing good poker and at the first break have a better than average stack...long story short, both my friend and I make it to the final table. Down to five (top four paid) I look down at pocket 10's. My friend is on my right and makes a min. raise. I look at him directly in the eyes and say all-in, thinking that he would fold. He thinks for a few seconds and drunkenly calls with Kh2h. I was like "What the f**k are you thinking?" I end up knocking him out on the bubble when I fill up for quad 10's. When we were down to 3 I offer the other 2 an even chop since we were very close in chips, but one guy declines stating that "I am going to win". OK, he came in 3rd when I sucked out a higher 2 pair when all 3 of us were all-in. Last hand for the victory get a four card flush to take down $540.
I had no idea what to tip the dealers since winning a tourney other than a home game tourney was new to me so I gave them $65. Is that right?
After that we were excited so we went and got a couple of j-bombs and RB and V's. Went over to the Mirage and lost a little playing BJ had a couple more shots and a drink and finally at 7:30 (19.5 hours of drinking) decided to go to bed. Funny walking down the strip with a hard drink in my hand watching all the joggers go by.
FRIDAY:
Got to bed at about 8am and am nudged awake by the soon to be wife at 9 to go get breakfast with her Aunt and Uncle. I do not feel so hot, but I probably should go if I still want her to marry me. Went to the buffet at Caesar's. Food was very good. After that went to the pool.
At the pool her Uncle drags me to the bar for a drink. I am hurting. I order a screwdriver hoping that getting back on the horse will make me feel better. Wrong. Eventually I have to leave the group and head to the room for a nap.
Got about an 1.5 hours of sleep before I was bothered to go out and about. We walked across the street to Margaritaville to get some drinks and a light lunch. I had quesadillas that were pretty good, but everyone else hated there meal. That place kind of sucks. I hate Jimmy Buffett.
After that the girls went to run some errands for the wedding and the boys all met up at O'Sheas. They have beer pong tables there now. So needless to say the buzz is back and I'm feeling a little better.
Sit down at one of those WSOP table games. Fun game, but you have to get pretty lucky to win any significant money. My best man stumbles up about an hour after I start playing and buys in. I tell him to put $5 on the bonus just in case and his first hand he is dealt AA for $150 bonus. He gets up and leaves. I cash out a little later down only $25. Time to go back and get ready for tonight's bachelor party.
Met up with the boys at Monte Carlo and went to the Brew Pub again. Muscled down a few beers and then headed over to the MC poker room to play a Sit N Go. Best man won after a very quick tourney ($1000 to start 10 min levels). Staff there seemed nice but I doubt I would play there again.
After that we jumped in a limo and went to scores for some bachelor party fun. Got comped bottle service and a reserved seating area, which made it comfortable. Girls there were just OK. Needless to say it was still a great time. Headed back to Caesar's and passed out around 2AM. Had to be fresh for the wedding the following afternoon.
SATURDAY:
Wedding day. We wake up and get a small breakfast and head back to the room to relax. About 11 we start getting ready for the wedding. By the time I was ready my stomach was turning. I was nervous as hell. That surprised me because we are practically married already anyway. Phone rings and it's the limo driver form Little White Wedding Chapel. Off we go. Wedding went off without any problems. Didn't tell our parents that we were doing this so the phone call after the ceremony was a little nerve racking. Shockingly mom was cool about it and we headed off to the Golden Nugget to start the post celebration. Got a bunch of drinks at GN and some guy walked up to the wife and handed her a ticket for $46.75 and congratulated us saying "her is your wedding gift". Awesome! What a nice guy. I wanted to gamble it, but the smarter half went and cashed it in. Left GN and walked across to Binions. Had a blast there drinking and playing blackjack.
It was getting close to dinnertime so my best man and I put the rest of our stacks in the betting circle ($65 for me) and we both won! Sweet. About to leave and another buddies wife is still sitting at the table so I go over there to tell her we're leaving. She says, "one more hand". OK, I'll play too. Pull out $40 and put it all out there. Get dealt 8 8. Dealer showing a 5. Out comes another $40. First hand 18 second hand 11. Out comes another $20. Dealer bust and it’s another $120 profit in my pocket. F**K yeah!
Left Binions and headed to the Peppermill for dinner. I love this place. The atmosphere was great and the food was fantastic. Would definitely recommend it. After a nice Grandmanier in the Fireside lounge we headed back down to Bally's to do some gambling. Won a couple hundred playing BJ there (plus 4 decks of cards). After that the wife comes up to me and says "I'm going to go to bed, but you stay out and have fun" What?! On our wedding night you are going to be this cool! Awesome. So I tuck her in and head over to Imperial Palace with another friend to play $1-$2 NL. Played for about 4 hours and cashed out up $75. I was surprised that there were a few very good players at the game. The guy on my right took it easy on me because it was my wedding night. Nice guy. 5AM time to go before the wife divorces me.
SUNDAY:
Last day. Get up and check out a fountain show at Bellagio. That show really is cool. Go in and do some hit and run gambling highlighted by a $200 Blazing 7's hit.
Went over to Planet Hollywood to check out the renovations and get lunch. Had a nice BLT at the Earl of Sandwich and did a little more gambling. Played roulette trying to hit the new anniversary, but failed miserably and put back the days winnings.
I wanted to have one last session of the WSOP table game so we walked down to O'Sheas and bought in for $90. Couldn’t get any cards so quit with about $20 left and moved to a $10 BJ table. Quickly turned the $20 into $250 and we were off to grab our bags and go to the airport.
Overall it was a great trip. 20 of our closest friends came out to see us get married. We all had fun no major wins or losses. Can't wait to go back.

Congrats on the wedding and what sounds like a great trip! Quad 10s to bust a buddy from a tourney? Classic!
Great story! Damn dude, anyone who can work in MC, CP, O'sheas, Slots of Fun, and Scores in the same trip is alright in my book! Congrats on the nuptials. Sounds like a great way to start off. On my wedding night it was me who was left in bed while my wife sifted through the wedding gifts, etc.
Congrats on taking down the tourney. I guess getting married isn't too bad either
. Congraulations.
Thanks for posting.

Congrats and best of luck with your marriage. Great trip report - sounds like lots of fun was had by everyone.
Great fun report and congratulations on the marriage. I must say however that I have never read a trip report with more focus on drinking than poker. I am a little tipsy having just read it.
LOL
Beer Pong at O'sheas.....count me in!!!
And congrats on the tourney win....and that wedding as well.
Congratulations of having a great time.
Condolonces on the Marriage.
Just kidding. Best of luck in love and life.
Trust me, later in your marriage when she says "it's O.K. go and play cards", she won't really mean it!
All the best,
@RickTfrombc
Yeah she will. Why do you think middle age housewives dread their husband's retirement? It mean they'll be HOME.
Congrats! I think you hit my normal drink routine to a T. Beer, RB&V, J-Bombs...then screwdrivers for breakfast. And yes, for those of you that are wondering, my drunk, dead money will be hitting Vegas the week of T-Giving for 2 weeks, so you will have plenty opportunity to aquire some of it. Take care
