WSOP 2008 Solo Trip
May 30th
Sitting at Gate A21 in Atlanta waiting for my 8:00 flight to Vegas.
A little about myself, been to Vegas at least 20 times, but this is my first solo* trip. 8 day of fun in Sin City. Playing for the first time in the WSOP, Event #2 & Event #7.
* Friend shows up for three days, Monday – Wednesday.
Here is my itinerary:
May 30th – Fly out on Delta, first class thanks to the wife.
Check into NYNY for three nights
May 31th - Relax and try and get my Vegas legs. Play a little 1-2 at PH, MGM, TI.
June 1st - 12:00 Begin playing Event #2.
June 2nd - 2:00 Playing in Event #2.**
Check into Excalibur for three nights.
June 3rd - 2:00 Final Table for Event #2.**
June 4th - 12:00 Begin playing Event #7.
June 5th - 2:00 Day 2 of Event #7.**
Check into TI for three nights.
June 6th - 2:00 Final Table for Event #7.**
June 7th - Count my money and get ready for the red-eye back to Atlanta. First class again thanks to the wife.
** - If for some reason I get knocked out and don’t make the final table, some drunk 1-2 is in my future. May cruise over to Binions for their Mega Stacks tourney.
My goal here will be to provide nightly/morning updates on my excellent adventure.

Straybullet is another AVP'er who posts day by day accounts as they occur on his Vegas trips, and they are always an entertaining read (Doogie Howser style).

BTW: On Sunday, June 1st, we are having an AVP 3/6 Mixed Game at Imperial Palace, should the tournament end early or if it breaks for the day. The game usually goes all night. It starts at 7PM, just in case you might be interested.

I don't mean to derail the thread, but do we have a list of AVPers who are playing in the WSOP or even a list of those playing in the main event. I believe Assani Fisher and Yappy are both planning to enter ME. Is there an WSOP 2008 thread?

Thanks everyone. I will do my best to make AVP proud. If that doesn't work you may see me at IP for a little mixed game. Although I have know idea how to play half of them.
I agree that is a very cool wife you've got there. The only problem I see with your itinerary is the stay at the Excalibur. But I suppose TI will be a nice experience after that.

I forgot to mention one thing. All of my rooms are comped. Hence the stay at Excalibur. I know its pretty bad, but free is free. If my wife was along, we would not be staying there.
I agree with the PH comments. Played there last month for a couple of 5 hour sessions + plus the tourny. Had a great time. Management is very friendly and out going.
