EA 29 - Our fourth anniversary

This past April 29th and April 30th LVMike and I went on our 29th Excellant Adventure. We hit 4 rooms over two nights. We played a couple mixed games, an Omaha Hi and one no-limit Texas Hold'em game. Why after all this time did we have another EA? April 30th is the four year anniversary of the first Excellant Adventure. So we had to commemorate the occasion with a trip.

Our evening starts at 11pm on Sunday night at a little casino named Southpoint. We both were looking forward to trying the Omaha Hi game that the Point has been spreading. It was a wild game with me getting in for $300. After getting down to $17, I made a remarkable run to finish the Southpoint session up $10. Then we had a fabulous lunch of Chinese in the coffee shop at 3:30 am. BEST Chinese food in town, but I MIGHT be bias.

Day two of the EA sees your heroes starting at the Tropicana. We had dinner at 7pm at their coffee shop then went to the poker room to start the mixed game. It was a 4-8 game that included: Omaha Hi/Lo, Deuce to 7, Badugi & Baduci. It was the first time that I had been in the poker room since they reopened it. Had a good time and made $45.

The next location was voted on by you our loyal AVP fans, the Bellagio. The Bellagio is the sight of my greatest triumphs and worst heartbreaks in poker. (Story for another day.) We arrived at around 10pm to find a 4-8 mixed game. Mike jumps in and proceeds to run over the game. He made $500. I get in about 45 minutes later and while I enjoyed the game and the wild action, I lost $200. We had lots of fun playing against a couple of Bellagio dealers. They're nuts! Who caps it before the first draw, then draws four cards in 2-7?

Since Mike won so much, he offered to buy lunch at 4am at Planet Hollywood. For any of you who would like to try one of the best desserts in town, go to Planet Dailys, the coffee shop at the PH. Order the banana Fosters. Its 4 delicious crepes with caramel sauce and bananas, topped with Vanilla ice cream. My favorite dessert in the world!

After lunch we sat down at a 1-2nl game. Mike lost a little and I won $65. I enjoy the room. The scenery is great.

My total for the EA was down $80. Mike and I had a lot of fun and hopefully we will do more EA's in the future.

  2. Where is the footage of the security chasing you and LV Michael....

  3. Clem -- I think there was a rights issue with the Benny Hill music.

  4. Thanks for the TR. I am looking forward to playing some of these mixers when I am there in a couple of weeks.
