Ok, I've accidentally hit the back button twice and lost my two previous attempts at submitting this report so this will be far more brief than my earlier draft submissions.

Accommodations:

Stayed at Paris in a Suite Calais. Spacious with master bedroom, dining area, parlor, two bathrooms, refrigerator, and coffee maker. Nice but in need of updating. Great view of pool, Eiffel Tower, and strip.

Dining:

Sinatra at the Encore twice, once with customers. Lasagna and lobster risotto were excellent. Vin the bartender was also great. This is our favorite restaurant in Vegas.

STK at the Cosmpolitan. Great vibe, DJ, bartenders, and filet mignon. Ate at the bar due to lack of reservation. I would go back. My wife loved the Cosmopolitan. We both liked the Chandelier Bar.

BOA Steakhouse at the Forum Shops. Nice. Good food. A little too cramped, dark, and warm. Took customers here and they liked it.

The Range Steakhouse at Harrah's. Underrated in my opinion. We've eaten here a few times and always enjoyed it. Good jazz pianist and drummer while we were there.

Entertainment:

Le Reve. Good show although cirque-type shows aren't at the top of my list. If you like that kind of thing you would enjoy Le Reve. I prefer the other Vegas shows my wife and I have seen together (Danny Gans, Wayne Brady, Gordie Brown, Jersey Boys, Phantom, Donny & Marie, Barry Manilow, Matt Goss, etc.). My wife thought it was almost as good as "O" which I haven't seen.

Matt Goss at the Gossy Room (Cleopatra's Barge) at Caesars. We took employees and their spouses/guests along with a few customers. Probably 80 in total. Great Sinatra/Buble-type show in a small venue. Tickets are only about $40. Great value.

Dueling Pianos at Napoleon's Bar at Paris. Fun place. Closed it down with 20-30 company employees and spouses. Probably not the Cougar hunting place that Harrah's dueling pianos bar can be, but fun. Probably not as wild as the dueling piano bar at NYNY, but you don't have to pay just to have a seat either.

Blackjack:

Took some Vegas and live gambling virgins to Bill's Saloon for some $5 afternoon blackjack. A good time was had by all. Nice to find a low limit table for new folks to get some experience and have a good time.

Video poker and video blackjack:

Killed time periodically playing these. I hadn't played video blackjack before. You can't quite do everything you are supposed to do if you are trying to use the basic strategy perfectly. Still a decent way to pass the time occasionally.

Poker:

Played three $1/$2 NLHE sessions at the Bellagio. I like playing here because I like the casino itself, they don't have a jackpot drop, and I believe the rake is as reasonable as you are going to find in town. No hands of real note. Down $37 over the course of the three sessions. I did see Doyle Brunson playing in Bobby's room during two of the sessions.

Overall gambling results:

Down about $100 over 9 days.

Courtney Cox:

A woman standing next to me while waiting for the airport tram to take me to my terminal at the airport spoke to me. She basically said she hoped we wouldn't get trampled as people got off the tram and before we boarded. I told her not to worry as they would exit on the opposite side. After getting on the tram I kept thinking she looked familiar. I finally realized it was Courtney Cox and that she was with two other cast members from Cougar Town, Christa Miller and Brian Van Holt. (Yes, I had to later use Google to identify the other cast members...but they did look familiar.) Other than seeing Doyle, that was my brush with fame on this trip. My wife was upset that she had left a day earlier and thus missed Courtney. I, of course, told her that Courtney hit on me and but I had to tell her I had my own Cougar at home!

Next Vegas Trips:

March 18-25. Business conference at Mandalay Bay, however, I've decided to stay at the Bellagio. I'm just not much for staying at the south end of the strip.

Late April or Early May. Another business trip. Again, I think this one is at the Bellagio.

Future Vegas Trip:

I just figured out I have enough Capital One points to get a free flight and spend several nights at the Encore. My wife and I love that place but have never stayed there. Not sure when we'll do it, but we are looking forward to it!
