Played at PH Tourny Again! PH

Just came back from my yearly Veags trip this weekend. Had a blast as usual.

Played only one tournament on Sunday 9th at the 2 PM tourny. $60 buy in which is great, esp after losing a bunch of money at Imperial Palace the night before.

6 of my buddies and me played. We had a side pot going. Last one who doesn't cash gets $10 from each person. After a couple of months playing Jokerstars.com, I am able to be a better poker player with the awful bad beats and donkey moves.

Started with 4K in chips and after the first break, 5 of us were still i nthe hunt. I had around 7K in chips. One thing we all agreed, the blinds were WAY too long, 20min. It got really boring the first 2 hours.

When the 2nd break came, up around 9K in chips with 3 of my buddies left. After getting blinded off a couple of rounds, I had only 1K in chips with blinds being 500/ 1000. Went all in and my pocket JJs held up and had 9K.

Next 10 minutes, had A10 which flop trips and gave me a river house. BAM! back at it. One hand that helped me to the final table was me being in the big blind with 69os. I goes all in, another calls, blinds were 1000/2000. I needed only 200 to call the raise. Flop was A-Q-6. I hit my six. I check and big stack checks. Turn came a 9. I had two pair. I was willing to slow play so I checked to big stack hoping he would test the waters. He goes all in which shocked me and of course I call. He had KQ, hit his middle pair Q. I had two pair and river was blank for him. I instantly became top 3 players out of 18.

After that, all in and lost. 6th place = $235. What a lucky day.

First time I have seen someone complain that 20min blind levels being too long at one of these low buy-in tournaments.

No doubt. Twenty minute levels too long? What planet does this guy play on?

  3. He said he plays on "JokerStars", so I'm assuming he plays small buy in tournies online, where the blinds are usually only 10 minutes. To someone used to faster moving levels, 20 minutes live could get boring.

In addition to those pesky 20 minute blinds... it seems that you had almost a family pot on your all in??? If so, then you are one lucky jokerstars player and shoulda played keno after that tournament!
