world series circuit tourney poker
My son and I made our second annual world series circuit trip in the third week april. this was a great trip. Started with the $65 sattelite on wednesday and Steve Daneman ended up heads up against my som. My son, Phil, had Danmeman down to 8to 1 chip lead when Daneman went allin with 63 off and won. Then Daneman was down again later and went all in with 48 off and won again . Both times my son had two higher cards. Then my son went card dead snd lost. Daneman was a nice guy and gave my son his entry fee back $65.I f you remember, Daneman came in second to Hashem in the big one. My son won the next two satellites and we were both in the world series circuit $550 tourney for free. We played in the $550 event the next day. I went out after 4hours card dead. Best hand for me was when I flopped a broadway straight against the big chip leader for a tie. A tie. He had the same cards to flop the straight. You know when that happens its not your day. My son finished 22nd place out of 418 and won $1000. He went out on AK against AQ with a river Q.that lasted until midnight. Final table paid 6000 to $90000 for first place. Next day we played Planet Hollywood two times in $65 tourneys. I finally cashed for $500 in a split pot. Then we went back to Caesars for the 5:00 second chance $200 tourney. Early on.a pro kept reraising me on every hand i played. I had to slow down and wait for cards.I must have wited 2 hours unti I got something. I finally caught AQ when I was down to 900 chips. The pro was was at 12000. I doubled up when I rivered a straight. Then I doubled up again. Ended up with 12000 whenthey broke up my table. THE next table was table 2 wtha a weird foriegner from uraguay. He thought he was on tv. He played os sloww that he would line up his chips by twos in the shape of a pyrmid slowly and then slide them in. This started to get on everyones nerves. NOW it was getting late, we had been playing for 6 rs with no end in sight and evvryone agreed to $1000 split with 11 players and 400 extra to the three chip leaders. There was only one no vote the uraguay idot. We explaied to him he would have to finish third to collect 1400 which we were givung him for the chip lead. He didnt care he just wanted to play it out but couldn t explain himself. We finally got him to split the pot with 8 players at 2:30 by chip pro-raion. My son was 8th for $ 450. I was 7th for $ 750 and that was the trip. We will be back next year for more circuit poker.
Congrats on you and your sons success sounds like a great time, but geez i know how it is to have that tv idiot at your table.
