This is a big, comfortable, high-tech room, but I don’t love it as much as some of the other reviewers. First of all, the tables are fancy but impractical. Why is there a ring of polished stone on the outside of the felt? Is it to make looking at your cards harder? Do they want you to be more likely to tip over your stacks? I don’t get it. It’s much better to have a layer of cloth covering the whole table, from the middle to the padded outer ring. Secondly, the place is big, but it’s not really a room. It’s open to the casino and a nearby nightclub, making it very loud and borderline annoying. That said, it’s big and roomy with a slick, eye-pleasing appearance.
It’s located in a high-traffic area of the casino and seems to draw a lot of inexperienced players who want to act like they’re on TV. The king of this room is $1-2 NL. I came to play limit hold ’em and found very few games going. I’m sure most of the really wild, bad players were at the NL tables, but the $2-4 limit game was plenty soft. A lot of inexperienced tourists mixed in with a few local rocks. Definitely a beatable game.
There were a few really good dealers, a few who were OK, and a few who were just bad. I saw more mistakes by dealers than you would expect from a supposedly high-class room.
Mostly pretty good throughout the night, but there was one period where we didn’t see a waitress for a very long time. When they took your order, they were back with your drink pretty quickly.
Pretty much everyone I dealt with was really nice and helpful. The high-tech waiting lists are fast and efficient. The floor people get you to your seat and get your chips quickly, and they treat you like you’re someone special, even if you’re only playing 2-4. There were two younger guys at the counter in front who weren’t especially nice, but they were competent.
I didn’t ask about comps, but I’m told they’re just average for a place on the Strip.
