I was at Wind Creek Bethlehem tonight for the high-hand promotion, and the experience was honestly pretty disappointing. The automatic shuffler at my table wasn’t working, I was told other tables had the same issue but looking around I did not see that. For an hour and a half — during three full high-hand intervals — our dealers had to hand-shuffle every single hand. Meanwhile, other tables ran at normal speed and were getting far more hands than we were.
In a promotion where we all contribute to the jackpots and where hand volume directly affects our chances, that’s extremely unfair. Our table was probably seeing one-third of the hands other tables were getting, which completely defeats the purpose of a fair high-hand competition.
Something really needs to be addressed — whether it’s checking equipment before promotions start or pausing the promo for affected tables. Players should have an equal shot when we’re all paying into the same pools.
Aggravated reg!
