First, this is the busiest room in Deadwood...but that only means that there will probably be a game most nights.
The casino is well done. A smaller version of a Vegas Casino. Drinks seemed to be free although I only had coffee (which was terrible) or soda.
But here is the weird part:
The guy who seems to be the boss of the poker room will alternate between dealing and then, when his 30 minute shift at the table is over, will immediately sit at the same table to play.
Once the employee/dealer's 30 minute shift is over, the manager then returns to the dealer spot.
With an employee of the manager dealing to the manager I wondered... Not that I did not think any of the employees were manipulating the cards but there is lots of incentive for them to do so. The employer/dealers seemed to be very conscientious in how they washed and handled the cards.
But here is the weirder part. The manager would pretty regularly wash the cards but it seemed very obvious to me that he was not really doing so. Just moving a few cards towards the middle of the pile and then moving them back out. (The employees did a great job of washing the cards.)
I am not saying the manager was cheating or stacking the deck (maybe his is just really bad at washing cards) but his actions would not be acceptable in any other casino I have ever been in.
