I'll admit, I'm not anywhere close to being a pro player. But I do enjoy live poker tournaments with low buy-ins. This place is my kind of vibe. Good action without being too tense or pretentious like some places I've been. As an amateur, I find this facility very beginner friendly with dealers and players both assisting in understanding the game...as long as you don't mind harmless jokes about being called a fish (LOL)!
Most of their tournaments are very affordable. Sometimes they are free, sometimes only $10-$20 (Re-Buys available for more $ of course). The staff has always treated me well (some of the ladies know exactly what beer to get me as soon as I walk in) and I have made friends out of some of the regulars. The facility itself is relatively bare-bones but is welcoming and clean (pretty much every night I go for a tournament I can tell the bathrooms were recently maintained). Also helps that they have a stocked vending machine!
The dealers might not be casino-level, but I find they make up for it with a good attitude and interesting personalities. The players I've had the pleasure of playing with give me the same energy. I swear, I could write a sitcom out of some of the personalities I've met here. Sure, I've seen some people get tilted when losing, and some faces are friendlier than others, but I don't let that bother me.
If you're someone looking for a place to casually enjoy poker tournaments, I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. If you are looking for a more formal game with a serious tone, you might find that this place leaves something to be desired.
