Unlike many of the California card rooms that use "Casino" in their name, Graton is truly a CASINO and massive. Beyond poker, there are multiple full service restaurants, a food court, tons of slot machines, and table games. The poker room itself is large with many tables and many games running. It could just be because they had their poker series running, but they had a number of games beyond low stakes limit and no limit hold 'em. I got into a Big O (5-card, Omaha Hi-Lo) game that you rarely see spread anywhere.
Despite it being a good room, players were really bad. A couple people in the Big O game had never played Omaha before and didn't understand how high-low worked. Of course like any Omaha game, almost every hand goes to the river because someone has a draw so you have to hit your hand, but when you do you win big because others are donating.
Surprising for a room of this size and stature, the check-in desk is just a podium. They have an electronic wait list, you can call to get on the list an hour ahead, and they'll take a phone number and text you when your seat is ready if you want to wander around the casino in the meantime.
They offer $1/hour comps for players and they were very easy to redeem in one of the restaurants. Only downside is due to the casino's size you have to park in the adjacent garage which takes a few minutes to find a spot and a few minutes to walk to the poker room. I believe they have complementary valet parking if you get a Players Club card. I was just in the area for a couple of days so didn't get the details. Would definitely come back here even though it's a bit of a drive from where I live.
