The upgrade to the old Manchester Card Room is good - the food is definitely much better, but man, what a tough place to get a seat in a tournament! Locals register early in the day, so if you get there an hour or two early you are going to be on an alternates list that can run 40 players and 2+ hours! Sunday major tournaments, I was advised to come at 9 for brunch, get a ticket to show your place in the line to sign up for the tournament, then come at 11 or so to pay and get your ticket and the tourney was starting at noon or so. It would be a huge improvement to buy in remotely, or the day before, or something for players who do not live right in Manchester. The room itself is barebones, nothing at all distinctive, but serviceable for a locals crowd.
