First time here. The poker room staff were excellent, friendly and helpful.
I've never played in a room with only one table going. To start the day off 3/6 limit holdem. Several players wanted to play 1/3 NL but the staff refused to open a second table as I guess the only had 2 dealers on duty. They stated management would not allow them to break up a going game. Fair enough I guess players expected 3/6 early in the day and some didn't want to play 1/3. However they had a button they would pass out to anyone wanting to play NL and if only those players were in the hand it became NL.
Later in the day more dealers arrived and a NL game was opened. The action was wild with one player stating he had never played before and he would bet $50 or $100 preflop with nothing and would proceed to bet every card to the river. He had to lose $2000 in the first hour and another $2000 before he gave up. Nice guy never complained never whined just gave away his money. As the day wore on I was up about $900 over my $500 buy-in and needed a break. I met my wife for dinner, she had lost most of her money on slots so I gave her the $900 and went back to play. After buying in and winning the first hand I played, the floor came over an told me I had to buy-in for the amount I left the table with or wait 2 hours. I chose to wait but circumstances didn't allow me to get back to the table and the next morning we headed home 500 miles away. There were poker rooms closer but we chose this one because the hotel was part of the casino and allowed my wife to play slots on her own timeline and I could play poker on my timeline. The hotel room was excellent the base rate was $119 (weekday) but with 5 hours of play the poker rate was only $55. If I lived nearby I'd play there all the time but since it's so far that will probably be my only visit. All-in a very good visit the other players were all friendly and I don't think I heard a harsh word in over 12 hours of play. HardRock is opening in Nov only 50 miles from my home in TN....can't wait.
