I have been playing in the Pickering poker room for the past 6 months. Same operator as Woodbine which is Great Canadian Corp.
Nice room because it was initially suppose to be the VIP high limit room for gambling. Free coffee and tea unlike Woodbine because they own the building.
Some dealers particularly the ones from Port Perry are really good specifically Daniel, Laura and Ron. A few others but not many. A lot of bad dealers too. They know how to pitch and call a bet but nothing else. They don't know the rules or enforce the rules. The amount of multiway talk going on influencing hands is absurd and shouldn't happen among other things. Most dealers don't say anything like if you were at a home game with no rules.
Supervisors in general are pretty good, some better than others.
The rake for low limit games at 10% up to $20 per hand is absurd with no compensation system.
Also room is on the third floor of the hotel. When cashier goes on break or lunch, there is no cashier. You either buy at the table or when you cash out walk downstairs to the casino. Very amateurish.
The room does have potential but definitely has issues.
