Beautiful new room with excellent location for those coming in off the strip. Design should attract railbirds to play. Roomy. Adjustable chairs (although I didn't find the chairs to be as comfortable as I expected). Primarily positive vibe and atmosphere. With the addition of autoshufflers, computerized wait list, electronic play tracking, and some flat screen TVs this room becomes a "4" or "5" rating for quality (and then this place would really appeal to the MGM-type crowd/player). Excellent start by PH, now they need to finish! They seemed to have decent tournament participation but not always much going on in the way of cash games. Hopefully that will come with time.
Easiest $1/$2 LLNL competition I faced during my 5 day/4 night visit.
No mistakes during my 3 sessions. I gotta say, I don't like the shirts they have selected for the casino employees. They look kind of like a business casual long sleeve shirt for an office. They don't stand out so you think "casino employee" which is what I prefer in case I have a question/issue. Ok, that's kind of a weird criticism and absolutely not a big deal, lol. My wife wouldn't believe it if you told her I was making fashion comments. :-)
It was fine but didn't stand out. Waitresses were quite attractive if that matters to you. Excellent outfits as well!
They were ok but I sensed just a very mild attitude. They just didn't seem as welcoming as management at the Flamingo or Venetian. Sometimes seemed more interested in talking to each other vs. assisting customers. With such a new room, I think they'd act a little "hungrier" with respect to customer service/customer experience.
I didn't ask so I can't rate them up or down on this. There was no free food. They do have a high hand jackpot. I'm not sure if they had a bad beat jackpot. (I don't consider player-funded jackpots to be a comp anyway!)
