Back in Vegas over the festive period and stayed and played mainly at Planet Hollywood again, not a room but a roped off area. Some feel this is a bad point but for me i really like the open plan although situated right next to the Heart bar so at times can become noisy but again for me this adds to the ambience. Tables have been refurbished somewhat since the last time i was there with new cloth etc been added.
Played a lot here and depending on what times you play the competition seems to range from TAG's to downright madmen. I play cash mostly but i played in 3 tourneys during my stay here and on every occassion i found 90% of the players were very tight and if you pick your spots can easily steal blinds etc.
The biggest selling point of the room for me. Ive not played in EVERY poker room in Vegas but ive played in a lot now and these guys are head and shoulders above the rest. Some are funny, some are informative but all are polite and very officiant, special mention to Martin (fellow Celtic fan and Scotsman) and Wayne (this guy should have his own stand up show!).
I cant fault the cocktail service at all, ive read elsewhere that they dont do top drawer spirits or some fancy water but me being a Scotsman i will drink almost anything alcoholic and these girls brought them super QUICK! After a couple of rounds one girl in particular didnt even need to ask me my order anytime i was sitting in the room.
Top drawer management aswell although i do find it a little strange they do seem to be behind most of the "big rooms" when it comes to technology. This is no slight on the management though as i found them to be friendly and professional at all times.
Rated the comps as average as i wasnt made aware of any even though i was staying in one of the nicer rooms in the hotel. Think the comps are pretty standard for Vegas though offering the standard high hand jackpots and they also do a raffle now.
