I recently played at The Nash, and some of the recent criticism wasn't my experience. Overall, the room, the staff, and the play was fine, and I'll definitely return.
I agree the chips themselves are on the cheap side and the tables with the marble bumper is a bit strange and took some getting used to but it wasn't terrible.
And contrary to some of the earlier criticisms, the dealers were fine. Sure some are better than others and some faster than others, but that didn't really impact play.
I've also read about the close proximity to table games and noise to be a distraction, but I actually liked it. It gave the 'room' some energy lacking from some other rooms I've played.
The rake is high, but I understand that as the cost doing business. And it'd be great to change the hourly high hand to 30- or 20- minutes, but that's probably a product of fewer tables, fewer players. Perhaps that will change as the room draws more players.
And while they do have some bizarre progressive option, no one on my table was playing it.
I wish beers were free for players, but $6 beers is acceptable. I just wish the beers were cold. There was a make shift bar with beers stored in tubs of ice trays like at an outdoor wedding which seemed a bit amateurish.
All in all, it's great to have another poker option, and I'll be back.
