I played at The White Rabbit on Friday, 4 October 2024. I arrived around noon just as the first game of the day was getting underway. The owner greeted me at the cage and stepped me through their membership process. I paid a $20 one-time membership fee and a $5 daily admission fee, which is pretty standard for Texas social poker rooms. I was surprised to hear that 1st time members were given an extra $50 in chips with their first buy-in. Free food and drinks was also included. My $500 got me membership, admission, and $525 in chips! They also had a $500 high-hand promotion which ran until 5pm.
The poker room feels more like your good buddy’s man cave, with 3 poker tables, a pool table, 2 dart boards, a video golf game, and leather club chairs and sofa. The poker tables, chairs, custom logo playing cards and chips are top notch and the dealer was efficient and competent. Shortly after I sat down the owner took my drink order – a very nice ex-military guy. Then trays of food were brought in with sliders, fries, and smoked sausage wraps from the restaurant next door. The burgers were fantastic – charred on the outside and pink on the inside, topped with caramelized onions and cheese served on a pretzel bun. Everyone grabbed a plate as the game moved along.
Within an hour I had made the first high hand of the day with quad aces. That ended up holding and at 5pm I was given $500 in cash. I even won a few hundred playing poker. I can’t say enough about The White Rabbit. I’ll definitely be back. It’s located in a clean, safe, new strip mall with plenty of parking. If you’re looking for a place to play that’s welcoming and comfortable, as well as professionally run, drop in and give these guys a try. You won’t regret it.
