I noticed recently that Ameristar East Chicago is hosting a HPT event from Aug. 7-18. Makes plenty of sense, since Ameristar is owned by Pinnacle, which acquired the HPT two years ago.

What's a little strange, however, is that AEC doesn't even have a poker room -- at least not yet. A supervisor disclosed that they're planning to open a room, hopefully before the HPT comes to town.

Meanwhile, the ballroom at AEC will be filled with 30 poker tables for the August HPT event, which should be successful.
