Whenever I play a NL Texas Hold'em tournament game in a casino or card room, a breakdown of where my buy-in is provided...ie: $125...of which: $100 Prize Pool / $15 Admin Fee / $10 Dealer Fee

For cash games, why are there no posts for each said casino/card room for what their house rakes are for whatever the stake buy-in may be...ie: 1/2, 2/3, 3/5 Limit or NL...etc. ..-for even the min/max buy-in amount for each game is provided without having to ask...

This information would obviously allow for full transparency allowing players to know what the house rakes are before even heading to that destination...sometimes with the trip being 1+ hour each way.

I get it...this may not be an issue for high stakes players and all and I may be sound in like a Karen but in all reality, for average enthusiasts like myself who has a passion for the game but plays recreationally, I would appreciate this information to be provided online and such without having to ask the dealer when only taking a seat at the table. That data is at each table next to the dealer as it is...so why not post it online?

It is unfair for a player like myself to go to a casino/card room only to find out when arriving that their house rake is absurd...ie: for a 1/2 NL game, the rake starts at $5 after initial $8 pot plus 10% with max rake per hand being $15.

I will not disclose the name of this Central Valley California card room but with rakes like this, I for sure will never go back...just wish I knew prior so that I would of made a better choice and go elsewhere.

For the present and future integrity of the game, I truly believe that this information should be readily available online...on Poker Atlas, on each of the casino/card room's website, on Yelp, on Google and all the like.

  1. Why can't you just call the room and ask what the rake is ahead of time?

  2. @emjg. Most are posted on the table near the near with a plaque of some kind with the rake the blinds and table limit
