14 hour MGM 3-6 session-what a blast

The afternoon tourney on weekends at Binions is my favorite. They always have a good turnout, buy in and add ons are reasonable, and the competition is a mixture of good locals, and decent tourists, and straight up fish. Was rolling along nicely, up among chip leaders at break, then the wheels fell off with the dreaded pocket jacks. I played them hard(5 times the blinds) from first position, hoping to not get a call at all. A local "pro" thought for awhile and reraised another 1000, the last of his chips. No brainer for me to call. He flips over KQo, so I wasn't terribly worried. Figured he wouldve been stronger than that, being a "pro" and all. Spiked a Q on the turn. Pocket 10s two hands later, lost to JJ and that started my demise.

Crashed for a few hours, ate, then ended up at the MGM poker room for some 3-6(3-6 when I drink, NL if not drinking). Ended up playing from midnite Saturday nite until 2 pm Sunday afternoon. I had a blast, the people at the table had me rolling, and it was a good solid game too, mixed in with having a riot. Did you know you could do a Jaeger bomb at a table?

The room was well run, dealers were friendly and efficient, cocktails took some time because of the sheer volume of people playing, but a few large tips, and our table was taken care of.

Management seemed organized for as large of a room as it is.

All in all, the MGM is my favorite place to play, so far.
