2 good calls, 1 big gamble = solid winnings
Day 1
So I bust out of Memphis for a 4 day jaunt to Vegas. Flight arrives on time and I'm at Bill's checking in by noon on Wednesday. My room is ready I drop my bag and head over to Planet Hollywood for a little 1/2. They have moved their poker from a nice, convenient place to this roped off area in the middle of the casino. Awful. They say they are moving to a permanent home but I won’t be playing there until there move. On top of that, I lose about $500 in a few hours.
So, I head back to my room and clean up a bit and head out to try Harrah’s. I really like the room because it is closed off and you can’t smell the smoke. I sat next to LVM for a couple of hours. The action, though, was less than to be desired. I'm an action player so I stirred up the pot a little bit with straddles and so on. Eventually we got some money in the pots. I don’t really remember any particular hands just that I would raise, get 4 callers, bet or raise the flop with nothing and everyone folds. I made about $600 in the session and at least half was off c-bets or raises.
I now head over to Caesars for some 2/5 action. I find a good table with a few rocks and few loose players. I’m up about $500 when a guy allows 2 limpers in front of him and two behind when I find JJ on the button. I make it $35 and he raises to $135. Many of the people I play with at my local casino will make this play with 88, 99, TT, AK or AQs. However, I severely overplay my JJ and raise all in. He snap calls with AA and lose about $350 on that hand. Oh well. So I end up getting a couple of bad beats and lose $700 at Caesars. By this point it is 2am and I decide to hit Flamingo...good choice. Lots of drunks and tired folk and win about $800 here for a total profit of $100 for day 1.
Day 2
I head to Caesars at like 9:30 and there is not one cash game going. Unreal. So I head next door to Mirage and find one 1/2 game going. I wait about 15 minutes and they start up a new game. I buy in for the max $300 and two hands in I double up when I catch flop a boat with 33 on a 663 board. From then on I totally run the table with raises and reraises and win about $700 during the afternoon session. I had a sandwich from the Carnegie Deli that 4 people could have eaten...it was huge!
I then went over to Venetian and it was packed. The Deep Stack tourneys were running and tons of cash games were flowing. I jump in a 2/5 game and go to work. There was plenty of action so I was right at home. One hand stands out: I have AKc and raise to $25 and get the BB to call. Flop is K-10-rag. He checks, I check. turn is a rag he bets $40 and I raise to $100 straight. He thinks and calls. River is a rag and he checks. I bet another $100 and he calls showing 10-8. I win with AK and he said the check on the flop got me the call. Either way...thanks dude. I leave there up a few hundo head to Harrah’s. The action is decent and pick up another few hundo there. My late night session is at Flamingo again. I've got about $450 when the big gamble of the week happens. We have 8 limpers in a 1/2 game and I have A4h. Flop is 6h3h2s. Small blind bets $20, I call and dude who has like $1500 goes all in. Massive over bet but he protecting two pair or a set...but it doesn’t matter what he has because I am drawing. Everyone folds to me and I tell the guy I’m thinking of gambling with him. I say, “I don’t know if because it is 5am or imp up $1200 for the trip so far or what but I feel like a gamble." He says he'll gladly take the pot or take the gamble, either way has cool with it. So I call. Heart on the turn and no pair the board on the river and I win a $1000 pot. The dude was cool and said nice hand. A little while later I bail and up over $1600 for the trip.
Day 3
I head to MGM after a couple of hours at Bally’s. And I think I am definitely dumber for having played at Bally’s with those retards. It was like playing cards with my brother's kids. I love the MGM 2/5 game and have always done well there. While I’m waiting for a seat, I'm in a 1/2 game. Within a few minutes I’m up a couple hundred when the following hand happens. I have already raised a few pots and it looks like I’ve been stealing. So I get TT and raise to $20. The small blind is agitated that I am raising and reraises me to $100. I instantly put him on AK but simply call because I don’t want stack off $450 on a race. Flop is 8 high and he insta-shoves all in for $200+. I tell him I can beat AK and call. He turns of AK and doesn’t hit and I sweep a good pot. I’m up $500 in 15 minutes playing 1/2 and then my seat opens for 2/5. I take it. A little later on that is when the hand of the night happens. There are big stacks and people using them at this game. I limp for a $10 straddle with 77. The straddler likes to raise it and bet it no matter what. So has raises it to $60 and I call. Flop is 663 and he bets $120. My best poker trait is reading people and put him on complete air, so I call. Turn is an 8 and shoves all in for $350. He is trying to carry on a conversation with the guy next to him to appear confident. I call BS and call his all in. He drops his head and turns over 44. LMAO. I sweep a good pot and he leaves to another table. I then pick my spots really well and cash out with 4 racks of red.
All in all, a good solid trip with profits right at 3K. I even got to eat some Panda Express...we don’t have that out east. I'll be back in a few months. Thanks for reading.
Sounds like a fun trip. Nice call on the last hand.
nice profit!
These brag-fests are hilarious.

"These brag-fests are hilarious."
What would you rather read about...my flight from Atlanta? My cab ride to the hotel? My thoughts on some restaurant in Bellagio? Dont be sour dude...anytime you want to post your winning sessions go ahead. I've had 6 of my last 7 trips to Vegas as winning weeks...this is my second trip report. Dont like it? Dont read it. But I will welcome you to my table with open arms.
I enjoyed the report. My report, which should be posted soon, will focus more on the other things you mentioned since my poker play was nothing to brag about, lol.

Ha! I am not capable of possibly playing at your table. Please dont take all my money...please...I'm begging you...please...I don't want to end up on your third trip report as one of the retards (you said Ballys has retards if I recall).
This is why I hate message boards. Lots of tough guys who hide behind anonymous identies. Sad thing is most of the people on this site just want to talk about poker and their trips. I suppose theres always one guy who comes home from the casino and just cant believe he got sucked out on or how he has horrible luck and never wins a race. All the while, it was probably how poorly a hand was played that led to its demise. Its funny because I have never read a trip report from tooloose. Maybe thats because hes too poor for a trip to Vegas or because he never seems win or maybe its because he cant spell. Either way, I dont give a damn whether you ever sit at my table...but if you do and if you're better than me (which many, many people are), then you'll take my money and I wont complain. I'll just go home to my wife, my job, my dogs, my Infiniti, and my +1 handicap in golf. Caio message boards!
Sportspup, don't take offense to the few idiot posters like tooloose who have nothing useful or important to ever add to a conversation. There may be a couple bad apples here just like on any forum, but the vast majority of us are part of a very friendly internet community here on AVP. I hope idiots like him don't keep you from adding trip reports in the future as well as adding your thoughts on various topics in the rest of the forum.
I don't get it. I'm a very friendly nice person in addition to being good looking, wealthy and SVELTE. So how come I rarely win? I really don't want any answers.

OK. First, I have never been upset at getting sucked out on. I'm not sure the last time I've ever been upset at anything really. Second, I live in vegas. Third, I've never said I was better than anyone and I know I can't spell. And finally, you go home to your dogs and your golf handicap and have a good time.
