Arrived to the Monte Carlo on Tuesday and immediately signed up for the 6pm tourney with my Uncle, who took me btw. It was alright, I am not a fan of tournament play but I figured it be my only tourney for the whole trip. I ended up busting out pretty early and took it easy waiting for my uncle to exit out. We went to the Excalibur next and I played 1/2 NL while he played the $2 limit game. I sat for about an hour biding my time. But I ended up losing my top pair Ace against a runner runner full boat. Before I left to my room I played the 5 dollar black jack and enjoyed my time, although the worst part about it was just the amount of smoke I kept inhaling. So day one and now down 220 >.>
Day 2
Wake up after a good rest, and we head to the Bellagio, play for about 3 hours 4-8 limit (first time playing limit) with 100 and left with about 260. I think to myself, awesome my first Vegas win. There was a British gentleman who would crack me up though, exact quote
Him-"this place is alot nicer than where I'm staying at"
me- "where you staying?"
him-Circus Circus
whole table burst out laughing because he looked like he was pretty disappointed.
So leave for dinner and a nap and return to the Bellagio. I play 1/2 NL with 140 and I'm up 25 and move to the 4-8 with my uncle and after a few hours Im up to 200 and decide its time I try the 1/2 NL again. During that time Im up and down but having a good time talking with the table and this asian kid named Kat (im sure thats what he said) He was drunk and called an all in with A5 after he saw one guy go all in and another guy go all in but this guy had accidently flipped his cards over showing QQ, and he won. Oh well, we never met up in big pots so we were always talking until these two big drunk tough looking motha truckers sat down. They were complete ass holes killing the tables fun high attitude So I switched to the 4-8. Lol its like 12 and Im at 100 bucks, I shouldve just left, noo the donk I am wanted to play some more. Oh well, so in a nut shell: this one black guy sits next to me, complete donk playing with ANYTHING, just sucks the table into giving him chips, Well, I get AA's and I think I'm golden playing my last 50 but the idiot next to me finds it in himself to play 34o. The pot was about 150 and the moment i turn over my Aces he says no good and inside I think "geez wtf did this donk call with all the way down with". Well he riverd a straight and its 2am so I just bounce.
Last day
Wake up at 9, after breakfast I try the Excalibur, and cant seem to get into a table, so I head to the Bellagio, again no table. So I think I'm ready for the Aria. I sit down play like an idiot misreading a big hand and lose in about 30 mins. side note": Its definately beatable if you know your opponents well and play good ABC poker, but you need some bullets to get paid out, I sat with 160 and it proved no good. So for my last 3 hours I jump to the Bellagio to play 4-8 and sit down with 85. It was an interesting run, lol i spilled beer on myself but a lady next to me who seemed a local actually lifted my spirits she was able to make me laugh and once I spilled that beer everything seemed to bounce back. Although I did have a guy sit next to me who turned out to be a real jerk. I had no idea that if you chop once your obligated to after that, so im on my BB and he's on the SB. He asks do you wanna play? I look down to see KK, i say lets play, so he calls and I raise. Immediately he goes bitchin about it. Its not until the dealer informs me that its common courtesy that I chop, I tell him I'm sorry Im new to vegas and had no Idea. I throw back his 4 dollars and he still wont shut up. A bit after Im on the botton and this other kid has the BB and for reason there wasnt a SB. So It's just both the BB and I and I raise it and he folds, and the jerk next to me starts harping on my about not chopping, and at this point the dealer informs him that how can they chop if I'm the button. So he still cant keep his trap shut so I tell him to cool it and just leave a few hands later.
So this concludes my trip and Although I lost around 400 I was still happy with my play and I cant wait to get better and come back.
I've fallen for the Vegas
