3 days of fishing. I reeled in some keepers
My plane arrived at McCarren at around 1030 on monday may the 12th. After grabbing my luggage me and my old man headed towards the CLS stand to pick get an airport transfer. Walking into the caesars palace lobby gave me goosebumps. It was the nicest of the hotels i have ever stayed in Vegas. Previously, i have stayed at harrahs, imperial palace, and the sahara(barf). Anyways after checking in we head up to our room in the forum tower. The room was outstanding. Flat screen TV, marble bathroom with nice fixtures, a tv in THE BATHROOM MIRROR!!!! and the beds were the most comfortable i have ever layed on. But enough about the room, i was interested in the ACTION! I get down to the casino, where i played an hour of jack or better, i got pretty lucky and doubled up to 80 dollars and cashed out. But that wasnt enough for me, i wanted to play some cards. So we headed to the flamingo and i bought in 200 dollars for 1/2 no limit. No particular good hands, but 2 hours later, i did come out 10 dollars ahead, plus i had a good buzz. it was atleast 4 am by now, and i was feeling a little brave (and drunk). So i headed to the Caesars poker room and bought in. Well, i guess the beer was doing me know good cuz was down to 50 dollars after 1 hour. Not to mention the sharks that play in that room. Suddenly i get dealt pocket aces. I raise it to about 10 to see if i can get some action, until some guy across from me puts me all in. I call and he turns over 9's. And guess what, he flopped a 9. Well i guess thats my bad luck. After this i headed to the casino bar and played jacks or better until i had enough beer to put me to bed.
-Day 2
I woke up early, around 10 am, which sucked becuause i only got 4 hours of sleep. I went down to the casino bar and got a coffee, and played some jacks or better. After 2 coffees i was ready to roll, me and my dad hit the Cafe Lago buffet inside caesars. For a nice hotel, caesars really has a crappy buffet. There was not much to choose from, and most of the food was pretty cold to boot. If you are looking for a good buffet, i would suggest sahara, or bellagio. After that I felt like looking at some lions, and playing cards, so we hopped the next monorail train to the MGM Grand. I headed Straight for the poker room and bought in 200 dollars for 1/2 no limit. If you are looking to make some cash, this is the place to go. The players here will chase anything, for almost any price. At least 3 guys at the table must have re bought in for 200 dollars every hour. i was in poker heaven. I didnt cash out until 6 pm. An my 200 dollars just turned into 600! After this we headed to freemont street to check out that big screen thing. It was pretty cool, but not really worth the 15 dollar cab ride each way. After this i finished off the night at the IP poker room. I was a little uncomfortable here, the dealer knew everybody except for me. Some guy got to spin the wheel after making quads, and got 50 bucks as a jackpot. After about 4 hours of play i lost about 50 dollars. I was dead tired, and dead drunk, so i headed to bed.
Day 3
On wednesday i woke up bright and early... 10 am to be exact. I only had one meal the prior day, so me and my dad went to the IP buffet... Which was just as good as the caesars buffet, but about half the price. I filled up there and stopped into the flamingo card room, bought in for another 1/2 NL game. The room was a little looser today and i ended up winning some cash. In one hand i flopped trip 2's and then some guy with.. god knows what raised me so i called. next card pairs the board so he raises and i call... and on the river, i get my 4th 2! he raises and i go all in... he calls... what did he have??? pocket 8's. That pot alone was about 400 dollars. so i leave and cash out for about 700. i always like to quit when i win a big pot. At this point i am on fire so i enter a tourney at ballys... big mistake... the blinds get raised so high, and i am card dead... i get busted within an hour. From there i go to planet hollywood. They have a real nice card room. Pretty loose action. I profited about 200 in 3 hours. My last hand was kinda embarrasing. I raise with A Q to 15 dollars, i was in late position, so all limpers fold except for one, all rags on flop, rainbow, the guy checks, and i raise 15 to steal, doesnt work, he calls me, another rag comes on the turn, he checks to me and i raise another 15, this guy wont budge, he calls again! river comes another rag, he checks and i check behind him. about to throw my ace high into the muck, he says, "Queen High!"... i'm like WTF? i have ace high... so i take the pot, and some guy tells me nice bluff. i take the money and run... i cash out for 400. After this i go with my pop to the "stomp out loud" show that is there in the planet hollywood. If your gonna spend money on a show... spend it on this... the tickets were only 50 dollars. And its way better than blue man group or mystere. Trust me you will be amazed. After the show we head to burger palace inside the imperial palace... good prices and GREAT BURGERS! Its kinda hidden its on the 2nd floor of the imperial, right next to the sports book. I strongly suggest eating there when you are tired of buffets. After the meal i play one last time at flamingo. The table was wild, some pots were getting close to 300-500 dollar mark.. With all that loose action i played squeaky clean tight. and ended up cashing out for a 300 dollar profit. One hand i had pocket 10's and the flop came j 10 rag... i checked and got raised to 15.. everyone folds and i raise to 30, then get put all in... he had top pair with an ace. it was a nice pot. After this i headed to my usual casino bar and kicked back the coors lights until i stumbled to my room and to bed.
-FInal day
The last day i didnt play any poker... i played some slots, some craps and some blackjack.. i didnt do to good at those... but then again i was just accumulating total rewards points to get some free t-shirts.
I had a great time on this trip i cant wait to go back. The last few times i went i played very unexperienced and either broke even... had a small profit.... i guess the poker books work. Vegas is full of people that wanna gamble and throw their money away. And i cant wait to go back and take it.
Excellent trip report! Nothing like people betting at you when you have a monster!
Thanks for the report! Sounds like you had a great time. Good luck on your next trip!
