3 nights of NLHE
Arrived on a Thursday night and made a beeline for the Flamingo which is always chock full of fresh fish. Was 400 up, got sloshed, and then proceeded to lose every penny of it. Do NOT play No Limit if you have more than 3 drinks in you! Overall profit at Flamingo: -100.
Next up was Monte Carlo. I love this room, win or lose. The dealers/management are always pleasant and accomodating. The drinks come a mile a minute but I learned my lesson the first night, mind you, so I didn't take advantage of this. Overall winnings at Monte Carlo: +250
Played at Excalibur a couple of times. I like this room now but much like the Luxor I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling when playing there. The players are not expert but try to look the part. Hey man, just play! What's with the sunglass hollywood look?? My favorite hand at Excalibur was the one where I took down a $450 pot when my KK against a AA resulted in a set of Knights. Other than that, it was a slow session- overall profit: +220
Imperial Palace is weird place. The players are very inexperienced, the waitresses are pretty cute and the dealers have absolutely zero personality. They are nothing like the IP blackjack dealers (who dress as Elvis, Blues Brothers, etc.)
Overall profit at IP: -160
Luxor was the absolute worst experience. I played tight with crappy cards and then proceeded to lose 200 in 2 hands. I lost 100 when my two pair lost to a flopped nut flush, then another 100 when my 2 pair lost to a turned straight. Talk about a bad vibe. Luxor has always been a cursed place for me in terms of gambling, but I did have a wild time at the Neferiti's Lounge across from the Poker room on the late-night. That was the highlight of my Vegas trip. Profit at Luxor: -200
Net profit for trip = 10 bucks + some wild memories
