This was my 3rd main event run. I won my seat as part of a 20 person poker league. I have won this league 3 times. The top prize is a main event seat and 1500.00 for expenses. The league is played for 12 months with players accruing points based on their monthly finish. At the end of the year we play a final table where your starting stack is based on the number of points you accrued during the year. I started the final table with 44k in chips. I took down 1st place when my k3hh beat a4hh.

I flew out of Philly on 7/8 @ 6am on southwest airlines. The flight was up eventful and arrived LAS at 8:30am PST.

This year I decided to get a rental car, since I would staying off strip. After grabbing my carry on bag and laptop backpack I headed to the pickup area for the car rental facility. The driver was very friendly and quickly took me to the car rental facility. It was kind of weird being on such a large bus all by myself.

After ten different reservations I finally settled on Buget Car Rental. My weekly rate for a full size car was 163.00 including all the taxes and fees. Checking was very fast. The clerk never pushed the ancillary insurances or products. I was instructed to pick up my car downstairs. The parade building was rather dark and difficult to inspect the car. I noted all the damage I could and left the renal facility.

Since this was my 5th trip to Vegas and have never visited the Welcome To Las Vegas sign I decided to stop on my way up the strip. Stopped at the sign and thought it was funny that you actually had to be leaving Vegas to stop at the sign. I snapped a few pics and headed back to the car.

As I approached the car I noticed a lot more damage to the vehicle than I initially noted on my agreement. I figured I would call them and let them know of the additional damage. When I hopped in the car and went to clip the seatbelt buckle my hand came back up with a bunch of brown goo on it "what the fuck is this". Now I am just pissed. The car has a a lot of damage and now this brown shit is all over my hand. Turned out to be chocolate, but still, no way am I taking this car. I went back to the rental car facility, parked out frontand paid the meter. Paying the meter just pissed me off more. I spoke to the manager and he said to go see Jesus down in the car return area. Jesus looked over the mess and apologized. He then offered me a free upgrade to a nicer car. I agreed and was on my way with a brand new Chrysler 300. This car was really nice and had every option offered on this vehicle.

After leaving the car rental place with a sweet ride I called my resort to see about an early check in, they said no problem.

As I stated this is my 5th trip to Vegas. Every other time I was there I stayed in a strip hotel. While I don't mind a hotel for a night to two, I quickly tire of them. This trip I decided to use my time share points and try something different. I settled on the Desert Club by Holiday Inn Vacation Club. The property is on Koval right behind IP and Harrahs. Each unit is a fully stocked and furnished apartment/condo. The property is gated and has 24/7 security. Each quad of buildings has its own pool, club house, jacuzzi and professional grills. The units are large, clean and recently updated with new furnishings and appliances. Outside there is covered parking for vehicles. If you don't have a car they have shuttle buses to the strip that run quite frequently. They also have a shuttle that runs up to Freemont strip.
