Arrived with the GF on 6/30 & left 7/3. Didn't play much poker, but i did get a 2.5 hour session in at the mirage and a 4.5 hour session in at the MGM. Also went to check out the Rio for the WSOP.

Mirage - Nothing special. I wanted to play 1/2 NL. they didnt have a board or do it electronically like MGM. I had to track down the lady with her clipboard. Felt very cramped in the room because of the low ceilings. I am used to playing at Commerce where they have 30' ceilings. Competition was average to good. Every time I caught a good hand, no one wanted to pay me off. Started to play drunk and loose and paid $200 for it. I know I am better than that, because my after an average session at Commerce of 10 hours, Im usually up around $800. I guess I was just one of those drunk toursits throwing money at the table. It will never happen again.

Rio - A buddy and I went to check out the WSOP. The room was huge. never have i seen so many poker tables. probably like 250 of them. maybe more. no one famous was there when we got there. Maybe 20% full. Only tournament that was going on was the seniors tournament that was going to start 30 minutes after we got there. AFter walking around, we spot the only famous person we recognized... Jerry Buss, and being from LA, we have to get a picture with Lakers owner. Really nice guy!!! After that, we leave and head over to the MGM

MGM - Not as big as I thought it would be and somewhat oddly shaped room. love the screens with the names and the beepers they give you. 1-2 NL was full when we got there, so we waited 5 minutes until there were enough players for another game. Competition was pretty good. Nobody really paying anyone off. Then again, I was there on a Saturday afternoon from 12 - 4:30. Big hand of the afternoon... 3rd position straddles, my buddy next to me raises to $20, I slow cal with KK, guy next to me (crazy portugese guy) said that if anyone straddles, he will go all in, so... he goes all in. everyone folds and it gets to my buddy. I want to tell him to fold, because i have KK, but that wouldnt be fair, so he calls the all in, and now its up to me. I of course have to call. Only hand that beats me is AA and I just have to pray no one has it. flop is all low & rainbow. turn is Ace and i get pissed. river is garbage. crazy portguse urns over 88, my friend turns over qq, and I win the pot with KK. I tripled up to about $600 and immediately put my name on the 2-5 table. Once I moved, I got no help. I was able to buy 2 small pots, but other than that, had no luck. Now... this is something I will never do again, not should anyone else for that matter... Never, never announce your last hand of the session. I was one away from the big blind bout 450 in front of me and tell the table that its my last hand. Everyone statrs making comments about how i should just get up and walk away or at least dont announce it... Saying I was going to get JJ and get broken by a KK. So i play anyway...oops! I get dealt AJo and raise to $20. button raises to $60, and i realize I am in trouble. Karma I guess. I call. flop is J 8 4 rainbow. I check and button makes it $100 to go. now I have top pair with A kicker, but I know i should fold and walk away. afterall Im up like $200 and I should go and buy my GF something nice. but I say screw it and go all in. Im either going big or going broke. guy thinks about it for like 10 secounds. Asked if i got the jj that they told me I would get. he had me covered so he called. turns over KK and I get no help on turn or river. so I busted out on the last hand. Not very fun!

Overall, I definately need to make a trip back for just a poker weekend with no drinking. Although, I think Commerce is much easier to break.
