Sunset Station was home base for three nights starting Saturday. They recently went to no smoking, which was a big improvement, except that stops at midnight. Played 3/6/9 game there Saturday night and some on Monday afternoon. Lively games with colorful players. Down a little on both occasions but had fun.

Santa Fe Station opened poker room recently and the room still looks brand new. No smoking there even past midnight. Not as active though as Sunset Station and had to wait for a table. Played 3/6/9 game there Monday night. Won small amount. People not as colorful as at Sunset Station, but I really enjoyed the clean feel of the room compared to Sunset.

Visited Luxor on Sunday for first time, so my wife could take holdem lessons and play in their 1/2 game afterward. I played 2/4 and the cards were against me. Lost several large pots on the river, which is not unusual for that type of low limit game. Down a lot. Busy poker room with lots of nice players. Enjoyed playing if not the losing.

Sunday went to my favorite rom at the Monte Carlo. Room was as always relatively quiet and fun. Played 2/4 for several hours - up and down. Finished down just a little.

Tuesday and Wednesday I played at the Palms poker room at 2/4 level. I like the action, but hate the smoke. Won big both sessions. My golden moment was pocket Aces in early position on a loose table. Six callers pre-flop - I often don't raise in 2/4 pre-flop as it tips everyone to a good hand. Flop was A(h),A(s),10(h). I checked and got one bet and a raise to me, which I called. Turn was 8(h). I checked, got one bet and one call back to me, so I raised and both players called. River was J(c). I bet and both called. Turned over four Aces! Jackpot at Palms was $121 for the hand, plus the pot. Did well remainder of session and next day as well.
