So now I've been in town for a couple of days and so far im about +600 on poker.
I remember saying to myself "stay away from the table games and slots". Keep grinding it out at the pokerrooms and you will do ok. Yeah right....
That was before I discoverd the Pleasure pit at Planet Hollywood. Some genius decided to place a go go dancer just beside the roulette tables and man did i fell for that :-(

I did like the PH room though. I played their 2 and 7pm $80 tourney 6 times during my stay and cashed in 4. They were all chopped 4 or 5 ways when the blinds got to the lotto levels. The strucure was decent with 4000 chips (+500 if you sign up for the A-list club). One of their dealers, a woman actually had a wsop stud bracelet from way back. She used to play with the big boys the told me. I liked her as she kept calling me crazy swede and by doing so she got me a lot of action.
I dont think I played so aggressive and crazy but 1 hand got me that nick:
It was on the FT bubble 7 handed and i was sb with about 8bb (medium stack), and when it was folded to me i shoved T5s into the bb. Pretty standard for me atleast. Ofcourse the young french guy woke up with AJo and made a Phil Hellmuth like instacall. Flop gave me 2pair and he wasnt to happy...
After that she kept calling me crazy swede the whole week. My reasoning was that his calling range, especially on the bubble was pretty tight. 55+ and ATo+. Vs that range i think I can shove any 2 all day long with a profit considering that it was on the bubble, it was against another midstacker and even if I'm called I still have some eq. Anyways it is always nice to suck out, hehe

Later that night I went to the Wynn but I didnt want to play there because it was no cap on the buy ins and I didnt feel comfortable playing vs 1000bb stacks. How do you put pressure on those stacks anyway? Maybe I should have bought in for the min and played hit n run? The room and casino was very nice though.

Next day I played at MGM for a while and left about -$50 after 2 hours play. This was during day time and Ive read here that that room can get a bit loud with the bar so close. When I was there it was quiet and only about 4 tables were open.

I also played at Bellagio 2-5NL which was the highest limit during my stay. I was (y)tight, maybe a bit scared money? but I got no hands to play with so what can you do really?
The players were no different from 1-2NL, maybe just a little bit more aggro preflop. Not 5 guys limping in and slowplaying 2 streets. I left after about 1 hour pretty much even.

Next day a friend from St George Utah, came and I bought us 2 seats in the PH 2pm tourney. His poker experience is limited to what he has sen on TV and I tried to give him a few tips before we sat down: dont play weak aces, never call, just raise or fold. Pretty simple rules. after 30 minutes of play I walk over to his table and he is down to 1k. I havent played 1 hand yet so I have about 4k. oh well I just hope he is having a nice time because he will be out soon.
I eventually bust out on a race and he some how gets to FT and ends up chopping for $600 each !!!
Obv he did ok w/o my tips ;-)

The day after I played in the Venetian $180 tourney. This is a very nice tourney with a great structure. I eventually busted out as 19th when I was trapping a guy with TP/TK that rivers a set of deuces. I put him on a busted flushdraw and wanted him to bluff the river. He was kind enough to let me know I didnt have any outs on the river though....DOH
The Venetian had a very nice room and casino.

The last 2 days I didnt play so much. I did some serious shopping for the wife n kids.
This was my first trip to Vegas and to be honest I thought it would be more fun. I went alone and I really missed my kids (2 and 5 years old).
Had I gone with a bunch of friends It would have been so much more fun. I guess I felt lonely at some times. The poker was ok but i like it more online were I can see 4-500 hands/hour. Im not really a FR player and I missed out on quite a lot of value when I gave people too much respect.
In all I was +1.1k on poker, -3k on the stupid table games.
If I go again I will play fewer but higher tourneys and cashgames.

I want to say Thank You too all of you here on AVP. This is a really good site and it helped me a lot when i was planning my trip.
TY and gl @ the tables
