Bad luck or just Bad Poker
Ok I won't bore everyone with my triumphs and defeats during my 4 day Vegas excursion mostly because I don't really want to relive it but partially because too many people spend too much time doing it.
Sufice it to say, I play low limit 1/2 NL and cheaper tournaments but regardless I have never seen so many people risk so much on such little hands. Fortunately for them I was beat on the river by people making low straights and flushes
while I was holding high pairs and trips (total BS but thats poker they say.)
Played (tried to play) a Friday 11am tourney at Bally's It was sold out by 10am and no alternates (Get there early!!). Went to play Luxor's noon tourney - sucks - $50 gets you $300 in chips it starts out as a limted for the first hour ($25-$50) then goes to no limit from there. I hate that(not that it mattered I was gone in 1/2 hour on several of the bad beats I described above.)
Best room played - MGM no surprise.
Wynn was beautiful but packed so moved on to Sports Book (Whatever happened to free drinks when you bet basketball games??? 1 drink per $100 bet-Outrageous!!!
Excalibur is definately lower end but fun people to play with
Same for Stratosphere
Hooters is a joke 3 tables and no atmosphere. But had a blast playing Blackjack.
