.. just some highlights .. random thoughts ..

Me- female player 31
I have been playing poker for 2 years now.
I play about 3-4 times a month locally.
I do not play online.
I am mostly a limit player but I am diggin' no limit as of late (1-2 level).

I met up with my boyfriend in Vegas.
He was bowling in a big tournament at the Orleans.
I had to finish graduate school work so I couldn't fly out with him.

I got there on Tuesday just in time for the Brunswick 2007 Challenge
Team Event. My boyfriend and his team from River Grove IL. won first place so that was GREAT ! Right after the tournament we head to the Rio to check out the WSOP.
We saw a bunch of major celebrity players such as Jesus , Daniel N. ,
John J. , Huck Seed , Phil H. , Kathy L., and Alan C.
We played some cash games.
I lost 43 dollars at 4-8.
BF won $800 at 2-5 NL.
We left WSOP to attend the awards ceremony where my BF and his team picked up a $750 prize and a lovely glass trophy (per person).
After the Bowling Banquet we played more POKER.
We head to Bellagio because he wanted to play there.
He got seated on a 2-5 NL table.
I couldn't get seated on a 4-8 table because the host was a jerk ( he was letting other people go before me) and I lost it when some idiot spilled his soda on me while I was waiting.
BF was at his table when I told him I HAD IT and was walking over to the Planet Hollywood.
I played 1-2 nl there and won 40 bucks.
BF met me and we played in the 2 am tournament.
It was great. Good starting amount of chips and good blind structure.
BF finished 16th. I finished 36th.
There was 40 people.
I busted out early.
BUT it was okay as this was my first tournament ever.
Oh BF won $200 at Bellagio.

I had to drop BF off at the airport the next day.
So I was flying solo a few days.
I like solo time as I can come and go when I want.

I basically played poker , shopped , ate , worked out, and swam.
The Las Vegas Premium Outlet Center were great as I bought lots of shoes.
The Orleans pool and workout area are great.
I ate mostly at the buffet ( Orleans is good .. yummy ), Panda Express, and Inn and Out Burger.
I am not a big spender when it comes to grub.

I played at Binions 1-2 nl and won $65 bucks.
I played w mostly locals and a dude next to me said he was a retired
professional poker player.

I played at MGM 2-4 limit and broke even.
I invested for 80 bucks and walked out with 80 bucks.
I played for 6 hours here and it was good fun bingo poker.
I got comfortable , was chatting up a storm and was watching my baseball team win their game. It was all good to me.
GOODTABLE with GOOD SOLID PLAY !

I played at Monte Carlo 1-2 nl.
I lost $100 bucks there.
I was card dead the whole time .. yuck !!

I played at Excalbur 1-3 nl and won $300 bucks.
The competition was very aggressive with CRAP.
They were young too and most said they played online.
I think there is a big difference between online play and poker room play.
I mixed up my play and made no tells and was a big winner here.
Most of the young guns there were looking this chick up and down when I sat down and a few were kinda trash talkin.
I took it though -they don't SCARE ME !

I then went Luxor and played some 2-4 limit .
It was a fun table again like the MGM.
I won a whopping 12 bucks there.

Good Trip .. VERY RELAXING ...
enjoyed myself ... BF won his Bowling Tournament
and I feel I made some good strides honing my craft of PLAYING POKER.

The Orleans is GREAT.
The room was great as always.
It was clean and the staff friendly.
I didn't mind paying the $5.00 fee because I worked out
and got water and fruit after my workout.

BF and I forgot cameras .
We could have picked one up in the gift store but I guess
it wasn't a priority !!

Ohh I rented from Thrifty . The new rental center is awesome.
I was in and out coming in from Chi-town
and going home in a jiffy.
I had a nice Dodge Avenger.
It had 100o miles on it.
I like Thrifty.

  1. Sounds like a great time. You caught my eye with the bowling... Although I haven't bowled in my league for a few years (college kinda messed that up), I'm hoping I'll still be the 200 bowler I was when I left. And I agree with you on the food. In and Out Burger was a choice of mine a few times last year. Their name is very appropriate.

  2. Greetings Princess. Just saying hello; I'm also Mohave who posted a reply to your trip report over on the non-poker LV board, so I won't repeat myself here, but still enjoy hearing that the rude dudes at Excalibur bought Baby a new pair of shoes or three.

  3. Congrats to you for making some dough out there, and also to your BF for winning that challenge! I'm a tournament bowler myself, not so much as I used to. Ask him if he's ever played in the Peterson Tournament in Arlington Heights, IL. I've made it out there a few times for that. It's a good time, and it's the hardest tournament in the world! I'll be in vegas in 7 days! Honeymoon time! Might check out some bowling, but I like the 1-3 NL idea at Excal... sounds fishy!

  4. Great Report! Always nice to hear that an AVP'er is taking home some cashola... Nice also that you didn't need to join in the smak talking, but rather let your play do it for you (at the Excal). I'll be there in 18 days, but who's counting right :sunglasses:

  5. He hasn't bowled in that tournament.
This was his first tournament in about 8 years.
    He plans on entering more.
PLEASE POST A TRIP REPORT WHEN YOU GET BACK !!!
