The wife and I went on our annual trip to the gambling mecca in the desert. I won't bore everyone with the other details other than we had a blast. I played at the Stratosphere(Strat) on Friday for a few hours. They had a promo in their fun book that got you an extra $5 in chips. The 1-2 was fairly loose and can be a profitable game if you can get some decent cards. I lost $50 when I had three 7's beat by a fish catching his straight on the river. Later in the day we went downtown and I played at Binion's. It was great to play there, it was like playing at the Yankee Stadium of poker. Played 2-4 Limit, Lost $60 after not catching decent cards or when I caught them the flop or turn were not good to me. Most memorable hand there was I had 7's full of 4's beat by 7's full of 5's. Didn't play poker on Saturday, did the touristy things. On Sunday bought in the Sahara 11AM tourney. There were 45 players, I couldn't catch much for cards, but played tight and hung around until just after the 2nd break when I was short stacked and went all in with pocket 4's. Ended up finishing 18th. Went to MGM during the day and played 1-2 and 2-4 limit. Donked off $70 when I was card dead or got beat by better hands. Last but not least back to the Strat for my final session. My first victory of the weekend when I left up a whole $5 after playing for two hours. I seen some guy donk off $500 I just couldn't catch him in any of my hands that I played. All in all even though I was card dead and lost about $200, I had a blast playing poker. We are making our reservations to go back next June for 7 days. Until then I will be playing in Detroit. Sorry it is so long.
