A bunch of people from the place where my wife works all decided to go to Las Vegas, to enjoy the last bit of summer before it ends. We all stayed at NYNY and went across the street to the MGM Grand.

On the first night there, four of us entered in the $125 buy-in NL Texas Hold'em tournament. There were at least 40+ players in.

A couple of highlights:

Drew A-A pre-flop and topped a raise and blew the blinds and the raiser out of the hand...a nice way to start building a early lead.

After the break, went all in with a nut flush against two pair...schweeeet! Doubled up on that.

Continuously chased folks out of pots and stole blinds.

Made it to the final table, along with two of the other people that entered the tournament with me. Eventually everyone else blinded out against me and one other guy who was along with our group.

Chopped and tipped out the dealers.

This was the very first poker tournament that I have ever played in a Las Vegas casino. Only home games before this.

The feeling was amazing!

I hope to repeat sometime in the future.
