Circus circus, MGM, Monte Carlo, the dirtiest, the best and the toughest

I had a room in Circus Circus, one of the cheaper hotels in LV, that is at the end of the strip, out of the luxury of the center, and is full of a multiethnical humanity, with a lot of kids. That's why i found myself playing in the circus circus poker room, which is surely the most dirty poker room i've ever played. There are true americans there, blacks who play the 3/6 game for money, irish, always drunk irish, white old americans who explain the game, as it was played in 1950, few good players and some other people who takes poker really seriously. Anyway, i've been playing there everynight before going to sleep, it was funny and relaxing. One night a completely drunk guy sat into the table, he was screaming, joking with waitresses and dealers and i expected he was going to lose all his money before the next drink, but he showed a really good game loosing only few chips. The next day i foun himd on the dealer seat!!! He was a good dealer too! those things happen only at circus circus, where i met the nicest people of my vacation.

MGM Grand is wonderful, the poker room is the best in town, with electronic registration, waiting lists on flat screens, nice girls serving good drinks, a perfect organization. Playing there makes u feel good, no matter if u lose or win, the athmosphere is so cool that u never would go away. There are good players, especially on 10/20 which is the higher stake there (only on request they start a 30/60 table) but there is also a lot of rich people looking for some luck with no idea about the game.

Monte Carlo's poker room is small, just 4 tables in a friendly athmosphere, paintings with old poker players on the walls, wood fitting out. Everything is quite and relaxing, except for the no limit players, who are the stronger i've been playing with in Las Vegas. I played in the Monte Carlo poker room 3 times, the first on an easy flat play 3/6 table, i was the only raiser and won about 300$ in 3 hours, then i came back for easy money and i decided to play no limit game. Found some good players there and get winning few chips after a tought session. The third time, it was late night, i played on the toughest no limit i've ever been in. It was a 6 players table 1/2 no limit, with pre flop raise always over 30$, average of 3 players on the flop and first bet always over 50$. As all the players were playing since several hours, they had big staks in front, someone more than 2K, i sat in with 200 which was the max allowed and played only 4 hands in 1 hour: AQ suited from the big blind, i raised 35, one caller, one raised all in 80, call, he had limped in KK, i flopped nothing, and lost. The second hand I had KK, went all in pre flop(90$) from late position on a 35 $ raised pot, Ace on flop and bye bye. New buy in 200$, first hand i finally had AA, raised 15, no reraise, bet 50 on flop and everybody folded. Finally the hand that saved my night, KQ hearts, i limp in from 1st position, the 5th players raises 20 the button reraised 55, blinds folded, i went all in 190$.
The initial raiser folded, the button calls and shows his JJ. Flop A23 turn 7 river QUEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNN !!!!!!!!
Get out with my chips, happy to be in Las Vegas but determined to play somewhere else than Monte Carlo no limit tables.

LAS VEGAS, COME STRONG OR DON'T COME AT ALL!

Bye bye, RedLizard (find me on WilliamHill)
