Day Trip to Caesars Palace and Excalibur
Arrived in Vegas at 8am, headed to Excalibur to play some were usual for th Ex, weak. Sat at 2-4 for several hours; there were a couple of young, experienced players and alot of clueless tourists.
I spent around eight hours playing at the same table and was able to pad my bankroll to the tune of $120, plus $75 for my share of the badbeat jackpot. Two guys, who were friends, sat down at my table and hit the jackpot when the young man beat his friend's aces full of 5's with his quad 5's. The rest of the table split 40% of the $1400 jackpot, which was around $75 per person.
After dinner and a nap, I headed to Caesars Palace's new room at around 9pm. I liked their poker room alot. I was seated at a 3-6 table filled with older men, the play was weak, but more agressive than the Ex. There were alot of pre-flop raises with very marginal hands. It seemed like the chips were flying into the pot, with players raising with top pair no kicker. I left around 2am,a $150 winner, playing a little bit tighter than I usually would. I saw Chau Giang, Sean Shiekan (sp?), and David Grey playing a 1k-2k mixed game at Caesars, Huck Seed was there as well playing $800-$1600 hold em.
After leaving Caesars, I headed next door to Bellagio to try and play a little 4-8 at poker's Mecca, before my flight at 6:30am. I was put on the waitlist, which was rather long for being nearly 3am. While I waited I saw Minh Ly, Chip Jett, and Gus Hansen playing in Bobby's Room. After an hour of sweating a 5-10nl game on the rail, I was too sleepy to wait any longer.
I had alot of fun on my short trip to LV, and I've found my new favorite poker room, Ceasars Palace.
