Downtown Vegas / WIPHOF
Arrived on Wednesday, man vegas is COLD 50's and windy.. Started out at Binions playing 2/4 limit.. Played 5 hrs and up +175.00.. I thought man this is going to easy.. Early night and said I'll get up early to play..
So up early 7am thursday morning.. Head to Binions only 1 1/2 nl game going, then over to the Golden Nugget.. Room was closed not a sole in sight :(.. I said Ok i will hit the Plaza, strike out again! they too were empty they had 4 dealers playing against themselves, I know better so I head to breakfast! Ended up going back to the Nugget at noon and played 2/4 for about 4 hrs and lost 60 bucks. Then headed to Binions and ran unlucky down 40. after another 5 hrs..
Friday I head back to Binions this time around 11am, played till 5pm and doked off 2 racks as I couldnt catch a card.. Watched the super satelite 75.00 for the Women in Poker Hall of Fame tourney which was saturday and entry was 500.00+60.. Pros that played were Kenna James and few others in the satelite.. Off to dinner at Binions Steakhouse.. Saturday I head over to the WIPHOF tourney to find a steller field that included, Chip & Karina Jett, world champions Tom Mcvoy and Russ Hamilton, the 4 inductees, Barry and Allyn Shulman,Lee Watkinson, Kenna James, Jan Fischer.. Also Mike Sexton and Matt Savage and Kathy Leibert & Pam Brunson were there but didnt play.. Looked like 7 tables with 10k to win 6,600 for second paying 9 spots, 9th went to Chip Jett who got 500 for 9th.. Barabra Enright chopped it as they play heads up continued for over an hour and they had been playing nearly 12 hrs already..
I didnt play any tournies but Binions have 4 a day 10a,2p,10p,2a which have $50-$70 buy-ins..
I ended up down about 300.00 total exspenses for the trip but it was great to enjoy Downtown Vegas once again!
I want to proudly announce that I won a seat in the satelite for that tourney and I knocked Chip Jett out at the final table.
I took 3rd in that tourney - $3675 - not bad for a satelite entry!
