Eleven hours of play in one day...and the wife didn't even miss me.
My wife plays the slots enough, to get us a comped three night stay at Palace Station. We added an extra day, for practically nothing.
First day there, I spent five hours playing 2/4 hold-em. I met my wife for some lunch, and then went back for another six hours playing 4/8 Kills.
Bought in with $100, had up to $165, then flop a full house 7's over 10's. It was a Kills game, so the raises got as high as $36...I'm holding 10/7 suited...the guy that rivered his freakin Ace, was holding...you guessed it...A/7.
After a lot of waiting and a few more busted hands, I was now down to $23. Lucky for me we just had some Yahoo join the table, and he was raising every hand. I'm BB on again a Kills game and I got KK dealt to me. The young Yahoo, bumps it up to $9. It gets to me, and I raise it to $12, six others stay in, and he reraises me, so I cap it at $18. Flop comes K A 4, I check, Yahoo bets the $6, and I'm all in with my last $5. I won that pot, and was pretty much back to even.
Met alot of nice locals, many older then myself, but we all bought beers back and forth for each and learned alot about each other.
On another hand, I actually bluffed the young Yahoo out of a pot, on the turn, he raised, and I rereaised, he called. On the river, I bet and he folded. I was stunned that he bet $32 on the turn, but wouldn't bet $8 on the river to see my cards. I made sure that he saw them...I turned them up, just to show him he was burned! The whole table loved it! That put him on tilt, it wasn't long that he busted out. I finished up $38
Went over to the RIO to check out the WSOP. My wife was going just to make me happy. When we got there, we both were amazed of how well the whole thing was set up.
We met all the big names, Doyle, Phil, Annie, James Woods, Chris Ferguson, and many many more.
We both really enjoyed ourselves. Met another couple there vacationing, and just hit it off with them.
My wife got her picture taken with Annie Duke, it's because of Annie, that my wife got into poker in the first place, so that was a real plus for her and myself.
It was tough having to leave, especially since the bad beat was now up to $184,000.
Until next time...may all your hands be played wisely!
