SFO>LAS on Virgin for 39 each way was quite a deal. I also reserved a shuttle from the airport to the strip through Ritz Transpo online before I left for $13 RT which I highly recommend if you are traveling alone. Landed, got on shuttle and went straight to the aria with my backpack and poker face on :p . Sat down at 1-3nl and won a few buy ins over 5 hours. Mostly on flopping a set in a 5 way limped pot with 22 on the button when top pair and a flush draw decided to gamble. Also got the usually "free lessons" on how to play certain hands by the resident expert. Few nods of the head and a handshake after he went broke, made me feel like a very tolerant human being. Headed over to the Cosmo to do their 100 free play promotion. If you are a new member you can lose 100 in a day and get 100 in freeplay loaded on your card. You have to ask them about this at the desk so don't forget. I went over to high limit video poker and did to 10x5 dollar spins and hit trips after my second spin. Here is the kicker. If you cash out ahead, you can come back the next day(after midnight) and your free play is still there, so you can try again the next day. I believe this promotion ends Dec 31st. After that headed over to Margaritaville to get their Volcano Nachos and a "few beers" These Nachos are 20 dollars but they are huge. I wouldn't order them unless your with someone else, or your Kobeyashi lol. After stuffing my face I waddled over to PH to check in. 53 bucks a night on Hotels.com was def worth it. Played the 1-2 over there, and the play was considerably worse than Aria, but it is a party atmosphere and the music blaring can be distracting. Ended down a couple bucks and headed over to the craps table. 10 min and a few points rolled by a guy with a pinky ring bigger than my head and I left up 400. Woke up next day and repeated same session at Aria up a buy in. AA held on a K7892 board after a very solid player shoved on me on the turn with K 10. Took awhile to make the call but in the end him smooth calling the flop bet with 2 hearts out there had me putting him on a hand somewhere in that range. Headed over to Todd English Pub at the Crystals Mall next door. Huge beer selection, and I highly recommend the Bison Burger. Happy hour is from 2-6 so I got a 22oz of FranzisKhaner for only 4.50...well 2 of them for 9 total. Service is a bit slow but I think overall, if you like German or Belgium beers, and micro brews this is the place for you. Went back over to the Cosmo to do the high limit Video poker spins again. This time a bricked out so I went to the desk and got my 100 free play loaded on my card. Went over to a slot machine and cycled through the 100 free play till I had 60 left. Cashed out and ended up 10 dollars after all was said and done with the promotion. I will say it was kinda cool to play in the high limit area, even if I was only risking 100. Drink lady was on top of it and I got at least a free drink out of it(well $1)Headed back over to PH and played another session this time getting my kk cracked for 200 pre vs....J10 ehhh lol. Headed over to Let it Ride for the heck of it and blew off another 100 over 2-3 hours but had a great conversation with the people there. One of the guys actually spent 25 days in a Vegas hospital last year after he had a brain aneurysm. Amazing he was recovered so quickly. Dealers are beautiful over there, and the one at the Let It Ride was stunning. After finding out I played poker, she told me she used to date a lot of poker players, and they are all trouble. I agreed only cause I am married lol. Flight left early on the 8th so I headed out in the morning after stopping at Ear Of Sandwich in PH. Get the Original! It is warm roast beef with a horseradish sauce that is amazing, and the bread is toasted. Was pleasantly surprised at how good of a sandwich it was. Not too much excitement on this trip but figured I would share some of the good places I experienced with you all. Next trip Jan 13-15th. Hope to have some better stories, and a few more tips. GL all
