Im not gunna lie, it is intimidating looking in a poker room realizing that after all the very loose home games and all the loose $5 tourneys that I grew up with I was actually here in VEGAS!!
I played at the MGM, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Monte Carlo, Planet Hollywood, Bellagio, Imperial Palace, Hooters, Rio, and Ballys. ( I know, its alot but give me a break, I wanted to experience as much as I could in a short time)
I dont want to ramble on so im gunna name each casino and the impression I recieved in each :)
MGM- overall my favorite place to play. friendly, comfortable, and the competition was kinda easier than most. Just an overall good vibe.
MANDALAY- Nothing stood out compared to the rest. everything looked average
LUXOR- pretty quiet group of players all around. The management was a big downfall here :(
MONTE CARLO- extremly comfortible and cozy place to play. Its quiet and relaxfull. Recomend
PLANET HOLLYWOOD- younger group of players I felt. Nice people. Just didnt feel too much of a comfort zone to play poker.
BELLAGIO- extremly nice, competition a bit better. hated the fact that so many people there who played in the smaller games thought they were to good to actually be there. Most thought they were much better then they actually were
IMPERIEL PALACE- The funnest time I had on a table. Everyone there was talking crap to eachoter as if a home game. Nobody trying to pay the bills there just have a good time
HOOTERS- Small poker room, loud, and not to comfortable.. Its weird but it didnt make for a bad room though. It was fun.
RIO- older group of indiviuals. It was a tight group of players I felt. Nothing too negative to say about this room. I rather spend time at another casino though.
BALLYs- reminded me of the RIO. The players are more willing to gamble here than there though.
All in all I had a great time in Vegas. Saw lots of famous people and just enjoyed as much of it as I could. It was my first trip and my opinions on these rooms will definatly be questions by others but I called it like I saw it i should say. If its your first time going to VEGAS take as much in as you could. Its a world all in its own so gobble up as many experiences as you can

  1. Wow I thought I played in a lot of rooms.

What went wrong at the Luxor?

  2. Sounds like you did the right thing for Vegas if this was your first time. Always good to play a lot of rooms and see what you like. Nice report.

  3. The only thing that went wrong at the luxor was the management. I just didnt like how the management went about themselves. I for one was not greeted while observing their nice papers on their desks and I had to ask them questions about the game rather than them approaching me. I know its not manditory for managers and floorman to acknowledge you but if im going to be invest some cash might as well play the part and make me feel wanted.
